And now for tonights Dinklemeyer:
This begins a new story: Freddy gets detention. Here we see the bully deciding to steal Freddys book and run to hide it.
Since starting to draw the Dinklemeyers, my drawing had improved greatly, so with this story I was able to put in a more lush and vivid background. It made the overall look a lot fuller and more pleasing to the eye.
Sadly, this story is based on something that happened to me, and it was almost exactly like this
down to the nearest detail.
UFO sighting in Washington, D.C.
What??!!?!
Kinda creepy, huh?
Is there a higher res of that floating around somewhere?
Okay, I'll come clean.
Had you going for a minute there though, didn't I?
nope. :P
Hey!!!
SO where's my "Vernon" story?!?!?!?
Oh, you were falling for it.
I learned today that Vernon is REALLY terrible at customer service. Just the other night, he was on his way to lunch and a customer asked for some help with purchasing I think a chair. The furniture department of course requires a lot of assistance when you want to buy something.
Well, Vernon just said to her "I'm going on my lunch break" and walked off, leaving her standing there.
Oh stop. Truth be told, I'm a pretty extreme skeptic by nature.
Sounds like Vernon is a real winner. Did you hear about it or see it happen? If I saw something like that take place, I would have stepped in myself to help, or locate someone who could help her. Vernon needs a real swift kick in the pants.
Hey!!! We're almost at 100 posts!!!!!
But you fell for that one because I did so well on it.
It was during the second shift and I wasn't there at all and I knew nothing about it when it happened. I actually heard the story from someone else.
And, apparently, it turns out he does stuff like that ALL THE TIME.
I've heard that our head store manager can't stand him.
...sooooo close...
Well, I must say you did do well fitting the images to it and everything. Honestly, it looked like a couple biplanes off in the distance. (sorry!) So what were they, really?
Back to Vernon...wonder why they don't just fire his butt!!!
Well, I think it's because they haven't actually caught him in the act, and because of that, they don't have a good reason.
At Magic Mart, you get a 90-day trial period when you start (I'm still in mine) where they can fire you or you can quit for any reason. But once you're past that 90-days....and I think Vernon has been there a long time, so they need a good reason before they get him.
They caught Roger in the act so they obviously had good reason to "let him go."
Hopefully a customer or two will complain to management. That should get the ball rolling.
This has been one of the longest emotional rollercoaster workdays I've experienced in a long time and my body feels like it got hit by a Mack truck. Know what I mean? Anywhoo... Night! Catch you soon. Keep up the good freeptoons, I really like this 'next generation'.
Well, I was about to say the same thing. I've got an early morning shift tomorrow (blech), so I need to get with it.
Tune in tomorrow and we'll make it all the way to 100.
