[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Well sometimes I have a problem with being too precise and/or opinionated. It's especially irksome when I can give exact samples of my thinking, which I almost always can.

I guess that's why I ended up in computer programming, you must be cold and methodical with those things because they'll only do exactly what you say. Works great for systems design, but can sometimes stomp on people's feelings inadvertently.

Of course I am very warm hearted and kind, but at the same time my heart is kind of covered with frost! If that's not an impossible contradiction! So these days I say to myself "Well this isn't a real, real, kind thing to say, but is it truly how it appears to me, and is the person tough enough to handle it?" And I thought, well bentfeather has been writing for 30 years so her skin must be a mile thick by now.

So fair warning (or I guess I should have given that earlier!), if invited to comment there is a chance that I'll make us both unhappy!!!!!

If you want to preserve your anonymity you should definitely err on the side of caution. If it were more germane, I could tell a personal story where the wrong word went in the wrong ear across a surprising distance and across a couple communication mediums and I ended up face to face with some old, unwelcome business I should not have ever had to deal with again. Bad news, I couldn't believe the fool's sequence of bad luck that brought events into place, good news, I dealt with the situation once and for all (legally and nonviolently, of course) and now it will certainly not come up again, which was better over all, actually.

So yes, the walls have ears, and loose lips sink ships!

Payroll has moved to their new office...furthur from home, closer to the airport. Still getting settled, LOTS of work, but just the neat boss, me, and 2 new folks, one I've known for quite a while. I think this is a good thing. We'll move into cubbies if they ever get electrified...right now working out of boxes. How is the manse coming along? Bath near completion? Painting?

Oh so you have to drive longer to get to work. Maybe this is a good thing for you new office and all.

Sure hope all works out soon for you and to the good.

The painter finished his part today, now the rest is up to me.
I will do it a little at a time. I am shooting for using some of the same paint from the bedroom for the bathroom. The bathroom will not be as fancy as the bedroom. I am just happy to have a new level floor, a toilet that does not fill itself every five minutes and an unstained sink.

Well, the parent company did the payroll....after this new system got off the ground the "kid" decided they wanted to do their own payroll. I am happy that they wanted me to come with it. And now 3 people are here EVERY day, and nobody so far has been grumpy. d:o)

Touchy, touchy, but as you can see in the thread above, I got permission to be honest straight from the top, from Bentfeather herself. Just between you and me, I think Bentfeather's Happy Thoughts are pretty much as secure as Fort Knox wrapped in armour.

I won't say anything snide in response to your nettles because I don't do that, but if she and I are comfortable with communicating in a frank manner, then surely you can find a way to accommodate yourself to that as well.

Of course it's fair for me to request some samplings of your own poetry, since you've seen mine. Would you care to post a couple pieces?
