Hyundai Sonata doing 147 miles per hour.

"They’re stock tires on a rental car. The car probably was shaking.”

I could drive at 147 MPH for about 3 seconds before I had a fatal heart attack.

I rented one and 80 mph seemed like idling. Doing a speed like that on the 101 should be a felony.

Ever see the gaves "Need for Speed"?

You could do it, with some nitrous or something like that.

My car is equipped and capable of those speeds but I would never, EVER even think about doing this on a public highway.

This guy was a inadvertant suicide on the way to happen.

He is very lucky he didn't biff it into a semi at that speed.

And in a Hyundai ?

WTF?

Cheers,

Apparently not.

It couldn't possibly be that the speed trap was out of calibration. Yugo-like cars go this fast all the time.

147 mph? This sounds like the (phony) Darwin Award story of the guy strapping JATO rockets to his car.

"The tires aren’t rated for 147 mph. They’re stock tires on a rental car."

But he's from Goodyear.
