Collateral Damage. Just look at the insurgent tactics and you can get the answers. Think more.
Would marines go house to house to house JUST to kill women and children? NO (not even if there were stressed or angry)
Do insurgent regularly hide behind women and children when fighting our soldiers? YES
Would these women and children get killed in a firefight? Most likely.
Human shields
These people KNEW the bombs were planted there. Iraqis always see them plant the IEDs and keep their mouths shut out of fear of the insurgents. It was right across from their house. I wouldn't doubt if there insurgents (father/brother?) planted them and detonated from the house against the people will (or not). This makes them collateral damage.
IED Tactics
Also, those in the cab stopped in front of the convoy, stopping them right on top of the IED (another tactic). Where were they going at 7AM in the midst of a 3 day operation in a city that was war zone? According to any marine thereat that time, they were insurgents. Not everyone is going to have an AK when you can plant IEDs.
Propaganda
Insurgents have done this before. Video tape after the fact and send the tape to the media purporting a "massacre". The left and the media eats up. Same was done for the "wedding massacre" the Fallujah Massacre, the Jenin Massacre, the White Phosporous WMD attacks in fallujah. All started with video tapes long after the time of the alleged event.
This is propaganda and we are losing the propaganda war.

what the hell kind of poll is this? the media trying this case in public? where is the justice? Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty?

To: Echo Talon

My cousin is Marine sergeant in the 3/1, Kilo Co. He was on the scene the day after the incident. He says the Marines responsible "should fry." So your cousin "knows" what happened but wasn't an eye witness? STFU and someone ZOT this POS
To: Responsibility2nd
he is a DU POS and needs to be zotted.

they acknowledge the incident, everyone has... they haven't acknowledged "in cold blood" as you have. The "civilians" could have been armed or could have been shot by accident, there were survivors to this incident, why didn't they kill everyone if it was a blood lust like you say?
To: Erl Man
No source needed you bean, its called innocent until proven guilty. Its quite the rage here in the United States.
To: Erl Man
Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence. That is my source
