Dear FReepers,
I am requesting your prayers and kind thoughts.
My wonderful mother-in-law, the mother of my husband and the grandmother of my children, has passed away at the age of 87.
This Mother's Day was spent in mourning and fond remembrance of a loving and faithful mother and grandmother!

Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His names sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that Alouette and her family could rejoice this day in spite of their grief and mourning, such is the love they have for their beloved mother and mother-in-law and grandmother. May the memories she has created within her circle of family and friends extend down through the generations, bringing honor and blessing to all those who will speak her name. Comfort them in their loss, even as they rejoice in her life. Amen ...

I know you and your husband are sad about her loss as you should be. At the same time you should also be happy and celebrate her life. She had a full life at 87 years and with a loving family, as I'm sure you all had, I'm certain she had a happy life.

May God be with your family during this sad time. We have recently lost both my husband's parents, and my own Mom died in 2000. This is our first mother's day without any mother's (or grandmothers) to celebrate it with.
It was very sad, but I have to tell you what my youngest son said today. My mother in law suffered from alzheimers for about 5 or 6 years before she died. My father in law died 47 hours before she did.
My son said, "Well, just remember, this is the first mother's day in about 5 years that Granny and Grandaddy have been able to enjoy together."
Anyway, God bless you. It' a hard loss.
