[snip]
A committee said Monday that Duke University administration was slow in addressing the alleged rape involving members of the lacrosse team.

It said key administrators relied too heavily on initial reports from Durham police that the alleged victim "kept changing her story and was not credible."

Duke will be sued into daycare status when this is over.

Those running scared, PC wimp, university administrators, convicted the coach and players, in public and the press.
Their liability is almost endless.

OMG. That's terrible when you consider that man (the Father) and his family had to watch Nifong get reelected.

With Nifong doing tons of National Interviews and now a National News figure - why hasn't any of the media (or even the investigative programs like 48 hours) picked up on this and reported it. Why wasn't it done before the election?

Nifong really has a high opinion of himself, that much comes through in every statement he makes.

*** I know this is NOT popular ***

but, I expect, that around June 1st, when the Durham Grand Jury meets next there will be another indictment.

I don't know whether we have reached the rioting point if the case does not turn out the way some of hte radicals want it to. I do know Duke has allowed it to reach the point that the school and the community are best served by keeping the heck away from each other.

Sad, but some graduates may choose this year to take their diplomas by mail instead of attending the ceremony. Not that they are missing much. Fr. Hesburgh gave our commencement address and it was nothing more than dusted off civil rights speech from 1968.

Mental illness, drug addiction and if you look up the word ugly in the dictionary, her face might be there.

Committee (led by a Civil Right's activist): If they'd only had more people like us running this place, this would've never happened.

I wonder if when Chambers and Bowen look in the mirror they can actually see the impressions of Broadhead's butt on their lips?

Maybe if there was a bit more diversity of thought on the review committee they might actually produce a work document with some useful content. The only thing I've seen of use in entire the 25 pages document was the actual timing of the first 911 call.... If that's even accurate...

It's one thing for graduates to get their diploma by mail, it is another for accepted students to choose another school. If this fiasco is allowed to continue the 'summer melt' (accepted students who have returned their deposit but then change their minds and go elsewhere) will continue to hurt the school.

As a parent of 3 sons.....if one of them were a student at Duke right now....it would be his last semester there. As bad as NiFong has been in this non-case, the administration at Duke has been just as bad.

When I see the stuff Nifong is doing.. and then the Media reaction and reporting I can't help think about Bill Clinton and Kenneth Starr.

Every day, every cable show (I can still hear Geraldo) at that time was shouting PROSECUTORIAL Misconduct. I haven't seen or heard that anywhere since. If this case doesn't warrant it, what will. Today a Duke player was charged (deferred prosecution) with violating a NOISE ORDINANCE by Nifong's office.

The other term still ringing in my ears from those days was PERJURY TRAP. Similarly, why haven't we heard this in the case of Scooter Libby in regard to FitzGerald's prosecution.
The Media is out of control. They dole out what they think we should hear.

Good point. The university has yet to reveal its yield rate of accepted students, and I am concerned that it may be poor. Our house is a double Dukie one with three children, and even we would hesitate before paying 43 large for our kids to go there. I would be up every night worrying now that I know that Duke could give a rat's behind about its students. Maybe Brodhead thinks that Duke has enough reputation in reserve that it could abandon its students and have plenty of others willing to take their place. We will find out but it's a huge risk.

The accuser really is mentally unstable, and frankly, so are most of her vocal advocates. This is really the flip side of the days of Rosewood, when the white lady accuses a black man, and all hell breaks loose. In this era we have those who need only know the accuseds are white college athletes at a well-known university. And the accuser being black is merely icing on the cake for these folks. Really, any female would do.

I'm sure there are strippers out there who aren't a mess, but it seems fairly unlikely. Why are you 27 years old and writhing on the floor almost nude in front of 40 college guys? And don't say "to run for Mother of Year."

I don't believe her, and she's ruined many young lives with the help of a lynch mob.

I couldn't agree with you more. Duke is now trying to explain their slow response? Are they kidding? This whole thing gets more maddening each day.

Good Post!!

And we are supposed to believe that she was beaten and gang-raped before - that the players made comments about using a broomstick - she left and was in the car - yet, she decided to believe them and return to house.

I can't see that being consistent with someone that was previously a Gang-Rape victim. Of course, he Father's on record saying (in the first case) they didn't do anything sexual to her.

The crazy thing is that as crazy as the scenarios are (for the crime to have happened), the Media is reporting it daily and it seems many, if not most, are accepting it.

Broadhead is doing so much damage to the school. Imagine how much worse it would be if they hadn't hired their own PR firm.

So now the Media spin is - it's DUKE's FAULT the WOMAN COULDN'T GET HER STORY STRAIGHT

That's exactly the focus of the article.

Not a female dean at Duke; too much racism goin' on say the racialists.

Besides, aren't private organizations the DEVIL to the Marxists? Yup.

The only good school, to them, is a "government" run school.

It's the surest way Proper "indoctrination" of the youths of America can be done....

This may surprise some, but Broadhead said today that he doesn't know if they're be a lacrosse team next year.

http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news/local/14531347.htm

Apparently it's a repository for white men that don't embrace diversity ; Funny, I thought good grades and the highest graduation rate of any Duke team would mean something to a Learning Institution.

So the cultural marxists have decided to wage their own war on the Duke Institution. It's always ugly. Princeton has folded. Harvard has folded.

And they jolly well demand that Duke fold too.
