[snip]
A committee said Monday that Duke University administration was slow in addressing the alleged rape involving members of the lacrosse team.

It said key administrators relied too heavily on initial reports from Durham police that the alleged victim "kept changing her story and was not credible."

I don't even think that hair was on her. I think it's one they found in the bathroom.
___________________________________________________

Sometimes it is just so clear when someone is grasping a straws like in this case. Hair evidence is meaningless in this case. Nifong must either:

1. Have injuries consistent with a foreign object.

2. DNA from sexual fluids.

Or this case is going nowhere at all.

IMO,

I think this means there's an indictment of the 3rd player in the future. Nifong delivering good news. DNA results, talking smack and being confident to the media.

The Hair makes us for the uncertain ID and Nifong gets his man.

It all fits together so nicely.

I am sure you are right that Nifong will take this to the next grandjury and indict a third person.

They meet once a month. Nifong likes to play cat and mouse too..

Abrams said he was being Pompass

Pressure and uncertainty are two weapons DA's have been known to use as tools to get people to flip or modify their statements.

Okay....I thought the DNA in the case was about a) Skin underneath her fingernails, or b) a towel in the washroom with semen. Not a hair.

I think he indicted the entire team members who were at the party and sealed the indictments. Whenever he believes some one did something he just unseals them. There is no case descriptions in the indictments handed up.

Looks like it COULD be a hair. The other night all the scuttlebutt on TV was we hear there's a hair, etc.

But, that begs the question.. Why didn't the SBI ID the hair in the first go round? That's a big question. The SBI spokesman said when they were doing the first round that they had done testing, similar to what was required in the Duke case, Hundreds of times. He said that it was nothing new to them.

Was the hair found in an evidence bag after the first round? That's problematic. Testing a hair is the about the easiest testing they do. Hmmm.

This certainly explains Nifong being overly confident and cocky the last 2 weeks.

Protect the Bill of Rights - the Defense lawyers have ample footage of that house looking like a wreck. The outside of that place was a dump, the curtains looked like they were from 1938. I'd think that place was a DNA factory.

Nothing is making sense though. Of all the people that went to class with these guys and ate Pizza at the same joints, professors and activists at Duke, coaches - no one has come forward (could've collected 75 grand from a tabloid) to say that suspect #3 had a moustache?

If this was a legitimate ID, why the moustache comment? If the suspect had been going to class (if he didn't he'd be ineligible to play in short order) and playing Lacrosse games where people from both teams (hom e and visiting have camcorders)- it seems almost certain someone would've seen the moustached man. Especially since he would stand out on a team that didn't them.

I'm pretty sure they said it was good news in that there was a DNA Match (It Seems Hannity had thought it was a Hair) to the 3rd suspect and they spelled out Not Finnerty or Seligmann. Meagan said, when Hannity asked, "wasn't it a hair?" - she said we're being told it might be a hair.

=====

I am sorry but you keep writing "they said", when you talk about some mystery hair.
Who are you talking about? The media speculating again?

You are confusing me. When did Nofong deliver "good news" and to whom??

YES. They aren't saying who their sources are.

Megan ?/Fox said tonight "we're being told..." So, she didn't source.

Hannity was under the impression it was a Hair. Probably from discussion before the telecast. No sources were given.

We don't know the sources, but they had a whole segment discussing the development.

They are saying it coming from their sources.. If you consider that speculation. They aren't presenting it as speculation. They are saying there's news tonight .. and we now believe.. that kind of language. Megan is a reporter... she's not brought in for her opinion.. she's supposed to be reporting.

Snarky,

The days are running together.. I'm not only one that has seen these shows. Was it Friday on Fox, a reporter said that she had been at the Accuser's house and they the Accuser's family had told her that Nifong called and said I have some GOOD NEWS. She went on to say that the GOOD NEWS was from this 2nd round of DNA tests. She said there may be a hair.

They picked up tonight on the same theme. She seemed to know more tonight (Megan on H&C) it sure sounded like that had confirmation that there is a DNA match. Hannity said to Megan - it's a Hair - Isn't it a Hair?
Megan said, we're being told it might be a Hair.

I'm 99.5% Hannity said it doesn't match the first 2 suspects, and Megan said, Yes, Not Finnerty or Seligmann, but it is a match to the 3rd suspect.

.

The way Nifong works, they probably found a hair that matched one of the LAX players, and he brought the AV in and showed her a picture of him and asked her if it was one of her attackers. 100% positive ID.

The DA gets back preliminary results and gets updates before the final testing report is issued.

Just like in the first DNA testing, Nifong was on TV saying The DNA, The DNA and how strong his case was.. Suddenly Nifong changed. He started downplaying the DNA on National TV. He stated before the results were released that he would proceed without DNA. He demonstrated on National TV (Abrams) how, consistent with the accuser's story, she could've been held and wearing a Jacket (like Nifong was) if as she struggled, there would be No DNA under the nails. Again, this was before the Testing was completed.

So, Nifong already has the info.

okay...let's see. Megan with Fox said tonight she has news, and that news is her sources tell her there is a DNA match on the second round of tests.
They are all trying to figure out what the DNA is...maybe a hair!

Something is up with this DA and his two month test.
This woman was not raped in that house by anybody.
I would love to know where this DNA comes from, and who is Megan's source.

Why isn't the DA handing over the results to the defense. Forget an indictment, why isn't Nifong going to make an arrest if there is a strong DNA link?.

Something smells.
