Allen Brothers - prime steaks and more
Allen Brothers ^
Posted on 05/07/2006 11:46:22 AM PDT by EveningStar
Rush was talking about the Allen Brothers on his show the other day. He'd ordered some gourmet hot dogs from them for one of his parties. He said they were great. He also said they are one of the chief suppliers for prime steakhouses in the country.
The prices are a bit steep.
Has anyone here ever ordered from them?

Did you ever see the "Unwrapped" episode when it shows how deli meat is made? Ugh. (Jim Nantz is somewhat soothing.) I never connected the dots, believe it or not, re: deli meat and the fact that it isn't cut from the beast in nice symmetrical squares. I haven't ingested deli meats since that episode.

I thought this is what a cut up cow looks like.

Bacon and Hap and I have had Kobe beef. I'm here to tell you, believe the hype. It is DAMN good.Someone once told me that it was too tender.
Said it was like eating beef flavored butter.
You didn't think that, I take it.

Oh, no. I thought it was hands-down the best beef that ever got yanked out of a cow.

So have you enjoyed beef still attached to the cow more? What type of a barbarian are you?!?!?
To: Andyman; EveningStar
I called.
They do ship to Canada, but they don't encourage it because if customs holds up the shipment, the meat goes bad.
$50.00 US for 5 lbs. of hot dogs, and at least $40.00 for priority shipping.
Hmmmm.
How much do I love my husband.......?
Btw, I know it is sacrilegious, but I don't like Timmies.
:-(

While I agree that it was the best steak ever I don't think "yanked" is the proper word. Yanked conjures up images of violent upheaval and clearly nothing violent ever happened to this perfect steak. No, I believe this steak was coaxed to leave the cow on it's own, gently yet firmly by a being only known as ...... The Meat Whisperer.

The first Tim Hortons store was opened in 1964 on 64 Ottawa Street North, near Dunsmure Rd., in Hamilton, Ontario. It has since grown into Canada's largest national chain of coffee and doughnut shops, with over 1,500 stores across Canada. Tim Donut Ltd., the corporate headquarters of the chain, is located in Oakville, Ontario and in 1997, Tim Hortons was employing 25,000 people across the country.
The Tim Hortons stores are named after their founder, Miles Gilbert "Tim" Horton, a hockey player who was born on January 12, 1930 in Cochrane. Horton began his hockey career in Quebec. He eventually played for the Toronto Maple Leafs (beginning in 1952), the New York Rangers (1970), the Pittsburgh Penguins (1971) and then for the Buffalo Sabres (1972).

Tim Horton's
They are opening one in Kandahar, Afghanistan for our troops, this month, I think.
They do have the best donuts, but their coffee is too bitter for my liking.

Um, not really.
You have the ping list for it, IIRC.
I did love Team America though.
