It sometimes seems like we work so hard and fight so much, yet so little seems to get accomplished.

Good work, as usual.
Speaking of gas prices, I saw Pelosi continuing to gripe about how "Bush's only answer to gas prices is to abandon environmental regulation". What a silly cow. I swear, the dems can't pull their head out of their butt long enough to see daylight.

you will do fine. when we plan all sort of "fancy/smancy" stuff the thread just takes off on its own anyway. I know your partner will do her best to help!

Pelosi doesn't know what she's talking about (master of the obvious alert?). I'm sure that "environmental regulation" is really going to bring down the price of gas.

That poor elephant and his majority have compromised themselves into a haggard tizzy. I'll bet even his ankles are baggy.

I can't believe that even with Republicans in the presidency AND having a majority, we're still having as many problems as we are right now. Sometimes I get the feeling that nothing is getting done when it is so urgent...or in cases like McCain, things are getting WORSE.

Everything bad going on right now demonstrates one thing: "compromise" isn't always a good solution to problems.

Good cartoons, it does get to the point to the problems that face us if they are not addressed. I hope you do get that job, jobs don't grow on trees and I'm grateful for mine. Very busy for me this week, we have closing plus I have another cat at the veterinary hospital. Buddha (Boo) is in there because he hasn't ate for two days and the vet did say he might have some kidney failure (not again) but we got him in much earlier so he can be helped unlike Greystone. Now, as the afternoon progressed, the vet seems to think it is an infection in his system because at the time of this writing, there is no organ failure of any type that has been detected but they will test his urine tomorrow to see what's up. Buddha is 16 years old, and a black cat. So right now, we seem to think that the best course is 3 weeks or more of antibiotics and I don't know if we have to give him fluids but we still have some of Greystone's stuff left if we need it.
Buddha (Boo): Found 7-19-1990 -
I figure I'd post it here since a lot of the singles hang around here too.

Well, the Republicans have never been ones to take advantage of a majority. Apparently it's more important to make drinkin' buddies with those on the opposite side of the aisle (and snarf up as much pork as possible) than to be honorable and dedicated representatives of the people who elected them. I'm so mad at my elected officials (R) I could spit nails, from Bush on down. They're selling us down the river and couldn't care less.

In fact, instead of growing on trees, it's more like they fall off the trees because of illegal immigration.
I hope your cat ends up okay. We got ours neutered recently (about time, too). He's I guess about 5 or 6 years old. Don't know what we'd do without him!

It all seems to come to votes. The politicians are just so afraid of offending people and scaring off potential voters, doing the right thing gets shortchanged. *Sigh*...too bad Mr. Smith didn't really go to Washington.

too bad Mr. Smith didn't really go to Washington.Yup. Although I must say, I've been most impressed with Jeff Sessions of Alabama. (Wasn't Mr. Smith's name "Jeff" as well?)
Any-hoo, good luck at the job interview tomorrow. Now go tuck yourself into bed and get a good night's rest.

Nah, you wouldn't. The media doesn't like him much so he's not getting much MSM airtime. But during the hearings for the Senate's immigration reform bill, CSPAN covered a good chunk of his eloquent and passionate exposé of what the now-dead bill contained that the Senate tried to rush through in the late-night hours before their Easter recess.
I think it was he, with a mere handful of others, that saved the hides of the American people on that particular occasion. (Of course he may have merely prolonged the inevitable. I can guess that HE wasn't invited to the President's closed-door Senate negotiations yesterday.)
