We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! Movies enjoyed the past couple weeks & recommend to you if the spirit moves: The Sentinel, Inside Man; Thank You For Smoking; Take the Lead; Friends With Money. In the news: TomKat (Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes) had their love child, a daughter, this week. Have NOT heard if he actually did eat the placenta, like he said he would ( I do hope he was kidding) Tony Snow fans await his decision on Monday if he will be the new White House Press secretary
Happy Weekend at ATRW. As the Chair & his lovely bride wind down their second(or third or fourth?) honeymoon at the beach, those of us that remain at our humble homes will chat & share our news & our thoughts on love & life.
Post your short news items, issues of interest, links, and so on. All who advance the Cause are welcome.
LET'S ROLL!!!
((((Bev))))
That is really cute.
I'm heading to bed now. Good night.
Hi,
I saw The Sentinel today, and I was disappointed that the bad guys weren't Muslims...
Sorry, I meant for that to be private if you want to have it removed! (didn't mean to post a spoiler about the movie)

Prayers always for you and Miss Lily.
Thank you for all your wonderful updates on her and on your life as well.
I am home. I left Spokane at 2:00. My plane was delayed in Denver due to a hail storm. My plane arrived in DM about 45 minutes late.
I need to be back in DM tomorrow shortly after Noon.
I drank Diet Coke on the plane and am wide awake. It will be a long day tomorrow.
Going to check my pings and the email.
I've read my mail, e, snail and otherwise. I've been to the ht, and now I'm going to try to sleep. I haven't emmitted so much as ONE single yawn, yet. It's going to be a very long night.
I watched a pre-WWII documentary last night on the History Channel. THe pacifists (Szilard and Einstein) thought that Germany would have WMDs soon (the bomb) and encouraged FDR to start the Manhatten project.
A special team was sent in after the war and they found out through Heisenberg that Germany didn't have a clue how to build one.
Excepting the pacifists---sound familiar? It's OK when they do it?
I didn't know that. I thought they were close to getting it and got that confirrmation from Werner Von Brahn when he came to the US. However, my memory could be faulty.
>>I thought they were close
No--- after Germany's demise, the US had the German nuclear scientists in a room and had the radio on for the announcement of Hiroshima. The army was secrety taping them to get their reaction.
Their comments to each other indicated they hadn't done the basic calculations yet.
Well, there it is: proof that my memory is faulty! Thanks for the information, and your original comment had a good point.
MM, I was under that impression as well. I know that Von Braun et al had perfected rpckets of all sorts but I remember my mom telling me that Germany was working on the bomb, too.
Thanks, Rave, for the history lesson.
BTW, good morning, All.
>>my mom telling me that Germany was working on the bomb
They were working on it and had assembled a team....but were nowhere near immplementation
Thanks for the clarification. I was just reminded, today is the day we're supposed to learn who the new WH press secretary is. And I just learned how I can listen to his broadcast every morning.
It won't be announced on the show...he already said that any announcement will come from the White House.
Ol' hunky?
Good Morning! Short night here
Wasn't it Vince Lombardi who said, "The best Defense is a strong Offense"? Or was it "The best Offense is a strong Defence"?
Whatever.
Put me down in the column who wants an extremely strong ordinence behind me. It is the government's responsibility to defend our citizens.
Be still my heart.
