Ther's also the price of gasoline, runaway spending, and an immigration plan that could best be described as, "Hey everybody, come on in!"

Will the RNC please nominate someone in 2008 who can speak well and sound somewhat smart? And please, no more rich people or sons of rich people (Bush family).

Ronald Reagan - please extend your hand from the heavens and point us to this person.

Maybe it has to do with the 38% D/27% R/35% anyone over 18 they use to create the sample for the Poll. Sorry until they come out with the 40-40-20 poll of Likely voters, all these hyperventalating is about Junk Polls. Classic garbage in-garbage out polling

Yeah, but we're close to catching Natalie Holloway's killler, not to mention getting those Duke lacrosse boys off the rape charge.

This country's on track, don't worry.

I agree with the idea that Bush low poll numbers are in fact due to many people who voted for him, being really po'ed right now. The dems never liked him, understandable. But you don't get this low in the polls without people who once supported you being really disillusioned with you.

I was polled once on whether I favored President Bush's performance. It was a couple of years ago and despite my complaints about some things he had been doing or not doing(mainly his malfeasance in securing our borders) I gave him a favorable rating. In balance, at the time, he was performing favorably in my opinion. If I was called today with the same poll I would give him an unfavorable rating. I'm a Republican Precinct Committeeman, President of a Republican club, served as Delegate to the State Republican Convention, served on the campaign staff of 3 Republican congressional campaigns, etc. So, is there any wonder why his numbers are in free fall? I was a broken glass Republican in 2000, campaigned for President Bush in the last two elections, attended Bush rallies, stood outside my polling place for hours with a Bush for President sign on election day. Yet, his performance in office has left me very disappointed. And I don't see things improving. In fact, with each passing day and the more he says and does, the more I find his performance to be poor. This grand welcome with fanfare and all of the Chinese tyrant is just another in a long series of problems I have with this President.

If Clinton had welcomed the Chinese dictator into the White House with the same pomp and pageantry, Free Republic would have gone apopleptic for a day or two. President Bush does it and there's hardly a thread about it and those threads are mainly about the courageous woman who yelled at Hu about his brutal, murderous control of China.

Bush's poll numbers have actually been going up the past few days to 43% according to Rasmussen Report.

Since Rasmussen Report polls everyday, uses a larger sample size, and does a 3 day rolling average, I, statistically trust that poll much more than any other. Mathematically it is a superior polling method.

I see, it not about reality, it about finding the next thing the Whine All The Time Choir can squeal at Bush about. I see the Deniac Virtual Campaigners and the Freeper Fringers don't want truth, simply self validation.

There's allot of things I don't like.

Like having to apologize for being a white consevative working American male.

But damn. We have Democratic Underground trolls lurking here all the time and they are loving this sort of thing. They copy these threads and post them over there and set back and LTAO. I lurk there to see what they are saying.

To tell you the truth, this thread would fit right in over there if posted on the regular forum.

Does anyone remember the poll numbers before the last election? The all pointed to doom and gloom for the republicans. But, who won? I do not believe the polls speak for the MAJORITY of Americans who strongly support Bush. There are plenty of reasons why he should be hosting the president of China. We can not pretend that if we just don't pay attention all the US/China related issues will just fix themselves.

BTW, the poll numbers are due to gas prices. Bush can and will turn this against the Dems, but I doubt it will do any good.

I am surprised that 33% of the American people approve of Bush's performance.

A significant number of those polled do not have enough sense to come in from the rain. [That's about as nicely as I can say it]

Clinton did the same things plus pleasuring interns in the oval office and had a rate of 62%. Are American people stupid or what?
