I think I have hit bottom today in terms of my outlook about the future of this the greatest, most free nation in the world. After the fawning coverage of the "immigration" protests yesterday, the continued slide of the President's poll numbers, the inability of politicians (on both sides of the aisle) to place the needs of the country above their own selfish desire to be re-elected, the lack of leadership from the President on so many important issues, the continued decline of moral standards and decency, et al., I have exhausted my reserve of optimism. I've grown weary of the day in day out struggle against misguided liberals here in DC. I actually want to stop caring. Every time I think it can't get any worse, it does. The Democrats and the media just keep piling on and the weak-kneed Republicans in Congress just keep letting them do it. I don't see anything changing and life will be even more miserable when the liberals get their power back. I feel like we're on the ropes and the referee is starting the count. Tell me I'm wrong, I beg you.

Maybe we need to listen to Rush more often as he is always optimistic I do, but I listen to the entire week's worth of shows on Sunday while I'm mowing the lawn, so maybe I need to space them out.

Get busy with something--you're picking at a scab and there is no reason to do that. Polls and the dummies are out of your control, so just do what you can with the world around you, the people around you, and don't worry about things out of your control. Easy to say, hard to do? Sure, and it's not a cure-all. But that's how you get through life, by dealing with things you can deal with and not worrying about things you can't control.

And don't whine about it, because that only makes you get off on the poor-me drug, and you don't wanna get into THAT habit.

they can get worse, get ready for the impeachment circus

but, i think its just a phase, maybe the country needs to see how bad the laternatives are before really tackling WOT, SS, Immig, Gov Spending., Education, etc etc.

I still think the american people will rise to the challenge.
