Still need my first, just not awake enough to make it. Right down the 57 from me; I suppose this means I'll have to go this year.

Thanks. Interesting how few of the novels and stories I've read. A Feast For Crows was very good, I could see it winning.

And Connie Willis has a nomination so she'll probably win. It's amazing how few people seem to know who she is when she's won so many awards. I think it's because she writes so few books. Every single one seems to get nominated but when it's been six long years since her last book...

Old Man's War was great. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

Definition:

The Hugo Award is given every year for the best science fiction or fantasy stories of the previous year, and for related areas in fandom, art and dramatic presentation. The award categories have changed over time, as the field of science fiction has grown and evolved. The winners are voted on by science fiction fans, and the awards are handed out at the annual World Science Fiction Convention ("Worldcon"). The award is named after Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the pioneering science fiction magazine Amazing Stories.

I sure hope "Serenity" wins for Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form). Stunning movie; too bad the series got canceled prematurely.

I'm less than impressed with the book; half a book isn't anywhere near so good as a full one.

[From Mr. Martin's journal...] On other fronts, my beloved New York Giants exited the NFL playoffs ignominiously, courtesy of the Carolina Panthers (probably just as well that I was flying to Toronto during that game, it would only have broken my heart), my beloved New York Jets lost their coach courtesy of the Kansas City Chiefs and hired a Kid Coach in his stead, and George W. Bush contines to subvert my beloved Constitution, spying on American citizens and supporting torture in Guantanamo.

It would have been better for him to spend more time writing the book, and less time drinking the kool aid.

Hard choice there. Serenity was an awesome film. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was also an incredible film. I might end up flipping a coin...
