A teacher's aid from Hull, Iowa, is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student.
38-year-old Kelli Cuperus works at the Boyden-Hull Community School and was arrested on felony sexual abuse charges.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Department believes the first incident happened in May of last year, when the boy was still 15 years old. That's where the sexual abuse charges come from, because the boy wasn't old enough to consent.

$10,000 bond? What a joke. There was a school teacher (male) in Washington State who has been charged with sexual contact with a student and his bail was $100,000.

Daniel Dean Duello, 34, of Mt. Auburn was charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee after he allegedly had sex numerous times with an 18-year-old female student in 2004, while he was a teacher and coach at Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

Kelli Cuperus got an e-mail, Wednesday afternoon, from the school where she works, saying she's been put on "paid leave."

And yeesh what's with all these teachers, especially the married ones, getting involved with students like this? (I say, hey, fall in love, whatever. But wait to do the nasty til A: the student is no longer a student and B: you get married. If you're already married.. Too bad.) Romance with student.. iffy. Sex with student.. WHO IS THE TEENAGER HERE, STUDENT OR TEACHER?! Get a grip on those hormones, people!

It sure wasn't happening when I was in school. I suspect we missed our best shot for a good revolution about 40 years ago.
I can read it, don't know about smart, most of the job applications I reviewed looked like that. I got a lot of practice.
