VANITY: "Not Ready To Make Nice" (Lyrics to New Dixie Chick Song)
Q Country 92.7 ^

Not Ready To Make Nice

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I'm still waiting

I'm through with doubt
There's nothing left for me to figure out
I've paid a price
And I'll keep paying

I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I know you said
Can't you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don't mind sayin'
It's a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Sayin' that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I'm still waiting

Fine. Don't "shut up and sing". Just shut up.

What a pathetic attempt to put themselves back in the news.

I think it was the lead singer. Also I am sure she really ticked off the other two but...they didn't have the guts to cut her lose. I am sure she sprung that on them by surprise as well. So, they are stuck with her and better them than the rest of us. Watch this song bomb out. They are still in t he attack mode. They didn't learn anything from before. I wonder if they will go on another mag cover in the nude like they did before. THAT really put them over the top didn't it? They have NO BRAINS.

Their new album should be called: "Hey, look at us. We're still important. Hello? Hello? Anyone there?"

Wow, Lohan's a lot smarter than I previously gave credit.. Either that or she's on a very short leach.

Yes, Natalie is from Lubbock and comes from a musical family. They like to tell people that they "struggled on the local music scene". BS. One of their relatives (a fella who is well-known and connected in the regional music scene) helped them a great deal. The only real struggle was for Natalie to utter the words, "Uncle, my band and I need help booking gigs. Will you call your music biz pals?"

The problem is with these people is that they don't understand that freedom of speech is a two-edge sword, it cuts both ways.

No one is stopping the Dixie Chicks from making music, I have decided not to listen to it...Freedom of speech does not mean I have to listen to it or buy it. I have freedom of choice also and I choose not to listen to the Dixie Chicks.

If anyone writes a song about the Ditzy Chicks, they should call it, "Stuck on Stupid."

Don't worry. They will say it loud and long in concert when they tour. They'll keep it going.

Fat Nat sounds a bit confused to me - in one part she howls

I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell

Then she proceeds to say

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don't mind sayin'

Well, which is it, fatty - are you happy or are you pissed?

There are enough of the American hating left that will buy the dixie chicks stuff......they will be all right financially, IMO.

I have one song by the dc....goodbye earl.....but goodby dixie chicks would be fine with me.

Sort of reminds me of that ignorant old gal Cindy Sheham.

I wonder how much this has really caused in losses to their pocket books.

Thats the price a person has to pay for being unpatriotic and playing to a crowd who really doesn't give a damn so long as your in agreement with their socialist liberal beliefs.

I nominate the Chickens and Calypso Louie to do a duet of sorts.

Call it, how I screwed myself because were way to stoopid to understand otherwise.

The Dixie Chicks have been relegated to the dust bowl of country music by their own stupidity.

I don't mind if my favorite singers or actors are liberals or give to Democrat politicans, it's when they open their mouths and say something mean or hateful that shatters the image you have of them.

Message to Dixie Chicks: We must have been unclear last time. Our apologies.

Shut up and sing, Dixie Twits.
