Gulf War Illness or Syndrome or any other illnesses during or after overseas deployment (Vanity)

Posted on 03/12/2006 4:00:30 PM PST by soldierathome

I'm looking for information about Gulf War Illness, Gulf War Syndrome or reactions to any vaccines given while in the military or while in the Gulf area. Any articles, personal stories, anything that help me or lead me in a direction to help treat or solve mysterious illnesses I've had since I deployed to the Middle East. I AM NOT A TROLL!!! Just desperately seeking information to help me regain joint and muscle function. If you have any information that you think might help, please let me know!!!

I have heard a lot of stories about several different illnesses which come on after being in any of the Gulf Wars.

A small suggestion. Try taking a supplement for tyhroid function. There are "over the counter" pills for this. Coping with this type of stress often makes your tyhroid underactive, and this is a problem doctors are slow to pick up. Try one of the medicines available - if you take the recommended dose it can do no harm, and you will soon notice if it is doing any good. If it is no good then discontinue it, but it is mainly a vitamin and mineral pill, so not dangerous.

Do you have any recommendations on specific brands/formulas etc? I hadn't heard that there were OTC supplements for this problem.

Thanks! :)

This is an Australian product, and there are others in the US, I believe:

It is "thryo-guard" and put out by a reputable firm.
