And now for tonights Dinklemeyer:
This is the last appearance of Stephanie. I couldnt think of anything to do with the character after this. She and Karen, the two hot girls from the strip, both vanished after this.
Here is a small sample of what I've got so far:
From the Earth chapter:
First, the water section:
"The oceans provide 99% of the worlds lifes habitat. About 90% of that living space is in deep sea areas. Only 10% of those deep sea living spaces has been explored by humans.
The longest mountain range in the worldand in the known universe, for that matteris under Earths ocean. Its about 40,000 miles long.
All the oceans in the world contain about 20 million tons of gold.
The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from the moon. Its big. Really big.
The total length of the worlds coastlines is the same distance as circling the Equator 12 times. But who has that kind of time?"
From the land section:
"The bottom tip of England is further North than the very top of Maine, or however you want to say it. Most of France is further north than Maine, too. Go look and see.
In less than 20 million years, at the current rate of erosion, all land mass will be gone. I hate these long, suspenseful waits.
Berlin is further north than some of Alaska.
We like to talk about Everest, and how its the highest mountain in the world and so-forth, but have you ever wondered what the lowest mountain in the world is? Look no further, my friend. Mount Wycheproof in Victoria, Australia, rises 140 feet above the plains.
At exactly 60 degrees South Latitude, all the way around the world, there is no land at all.
Yes, Greenland is the worlds largest island. New Guinea comes in second. The first is three times larger than the second."
It gets kind of addictive to read, doesn't it?
Very nice! I never knew about the Gold thing. Awesome :) Its very addictive. I like the humorous notes you added. Like "but who has that kind of time?"
Yeah, you've got to make it punchy and unique. I'm no expert in geography or anything, I just have the writing skills, so I recycle the information in a presentable fashion.
Actually, I am headed off to bed now. I thought I was a night owl, but it's like, oh-dark-hundred over where Philip is. Right? Where are you at Paul? I forget. My brains are still packed in my suitcase.
LOL I just got up. Sometimes it shard to stary up so I understand :) Largely because I had taken a nap. I actually live just north of Seattle. LOL my typing skills tonight are also packed in my suitcase.
Very cool :) Here is more information on this scientist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burkhard_Heim
Paul - Seattle is nice. I've been there twice to see my husband there at Ft. Lewis (I know it's in Tacoma) just before he got shipped off to Iraq back in 2003.
Phil - Interesting stuff. I say you run with it and turn it into a science fiction novel. :) (mainly because I am a sci-fi fan).
Ok. Must find pillow now...night!
Okee dokee! I will ping for tomorrow.
Yep :) Close enough to seattle though hehe. I hope your husband is safe. God bless him and you. I am a huge sci-fi fan too.
Oh, btw, call me Barb, if you like.
That evens the playing field a bit...Barb.
Sure thing Barb :)
Sorry about that, Phil. I announced my name a couple weeks ago in the Friday thread. Thought you saw it. Oh well. Everyone was probably too drunk and too happy.
Oops, meant to include you too on this, Paul.
I wasn't drunk, so I guess I was too happy.
Ok, really off to bed now...byeeeeeeee!
lol no problem. Figured you did.
goodnight! :)
Yeah, I'm gonna' have to go too. G'night, everyone. It's REALLY late here.
Goodnight P
