Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You ,know, I had no idea Spanish language programs were so costly. You may go to the librry and see if they have Rosetta Stone. there are some libraries around here that have it and if you are one of their patrons, you can use it free of charge.

How'd you get a picture of my childhood dentist.
(no, I am not making this up and that's one reason I have so many problems now)

We have an ~okay~ county library system. I may also have the wife check around with her homeschool contacts.

*shudder*
Thankfully, my childhood dentist is still around. He's Becky's dentist now.
And he doesn't look ~anything~ like that.

Seriesly, I refused to go to thedentist from age 8 until I was 13 (big mistake), and I threw such a fit that my parents didn't force me.

When I was young and just a bad little kid,
My momma noticed funny things I did.
Like shootin' puppies with a BB-Gun.
I'd poison guppies, and when I was done,
I'd find a pussy-cat and bash in its head.
That's when my momma said...
(What did she say?)
She said my boy I think someday
You'll find a way
To make your natural tendencies pay...
You'll be a dentist.
You have a talent for causing things pain!
Son, be a dentist.
People will pay you to be inhumane!
Your temperament's wrong for the priesthood,
And teaching would suit you still less.
Son, be a dentist.
You'll be a success.

(Never argue with an idiot. People watching may not be able to tell the difference.)
To: Corin Stormhands
I don't blame you.
Sigh. I need to go to the dentist, it's been way too long but since I don't have dental or vision coverage...

I've been really bad about going for the last few years, but before that I would go every 6 months.
Having a good dentist makes all the difference!

I'm very fortunate with my dental coverage. And I bought the extra coverage to take care of the crowns, etc. (not to mention Jr's braces).

I think the sq. ft. garden would be better for the melons. Luke can get to them to weed them, etc. As for the hydrangeas and lilacs, if you move them before they bloom, it might interrupt the blooming for this year, I'm not sure, but they should be back fine for next year. I'm thinking you might want to prune them before you move them. I'd think there would be less stress in the moving process if the plant isn't as large.

Well...he was a very unpleasant dentist. Steve Martin got very into the role. ;-)

Maybe this summer I will have good coverage. I think I will need new glasses then anyway.
We grad students *did* get a raise. An extra $80 this month will really help.

And thesalesladyatsears said there's a lever to turn the icemaker on or off. But I haven't found that yet and it's not shown in the owner's manual. The one at werk is a thin metal bar where the ice comes out. You raise it to shut the icemaker off.
To: SuziQ
Thanks. That makes sense with the moving.
Waiting until fall would accomplish a couple of things. The nayber's fence will be up so I can work with different positioning, and it's something I can take off my to do list for spring.
In my head I'm trying to determine where I'll put a new sq.ft bed. (if I only had an extra $5K to take out all the trees I want to get rid of that wouldn't be such a problem).

The one at werk is a thin metal bar where the ice comes out. Yeah we had that on the old fridge. I just don't (haven't) seen the same type thing on this one.
