Last night on "Coast-2-Coast AM" Art Bell started the show saying he was doing well, however, he missed "human companionship" complaining that his cats did not enjoy his choice in TV shows.

Here's you chance ladies.

He buried his wife what,

Nope, won't have anything to do with a man who sees replacing his wife like replacing the washing machine when it croaks.

Bell's wife, Ramona, died of an acute asthma attack on January 5, 2006 in Laughlin, Nevada, where the couple were taking a short vacation. Ramona Bell was 47 years old.

More like six weeks, but yeah, still darn quick. Heck, six months would still be a little too soon IMHO.

Well, things are done differently in Area 51. I think the aliens won't take any human without a mate very seriously.

I think she was sick for a while. I understand your point, however, when someone is terminaly ill, you can care and love someone and still need to be intimate with someone.

**I am trying not to think about Art Bell getting intimate with anyone***

replacing his wife like replacing the washing machine when it croaks.

Aren't women just another appliance?

Dishwasher, sometimes icebox, vacuum (if we're good), washing machine,,,,, a man can't live without these and I'll duck now and run.

Of course, you can feel the need to be intimate with someone, we all feel that way.

I guess while I may feel the need for human physical intimacy, I want mental and emotional more.

And that is waaayyyyy harder to come by.

He just sounds like so many men (around here) who marry women they have nothing in common with and often don't even like that much, 'just to have someone in the house'...to quote one geezer.

yeah, after they got the Heaven's Gate folks, all bets were off on non-coupled humans.

I can't sleep with a woman if I don't like her.

That plus the child molestation thing... he sounds like quite a catch, all right.

I don't know about the responses here. Art presumably said (based upon this post) that he misses human companionship. Have you ever lost your mate? It is devastating...and the thing you miss most is companionship.

I think this says a lot about his relationship with his wife. He valued it, he misses it. My sympathy goes out to him.

P.S. Sorry Art, I'm taken.

My grandfather married his second wife three months after my grandmother died. He said that at his age (85), he didn't have time for a long courtship. LOL!

When I lost my first husband, the thing I missed the most was him.

I had friends, I had interests, I had family....but 'he' wasn't there.

Again, I think this tiny thing is the difference between how some folks view marriage and is very, VERY critical. And why I personally find Art's remarks callous and a bit creepy.

I'd rather be alone than with someone who wasn't my heart. I did it once and it was a nightmare. Yeah, I had a 'companion' but he wasn't my best friend or my mate. And when he was gone, instead of missing 'companionship'...I missed nothing. Because there was nothing to miss.

I can't imagine in a million years marrying just for companionship.
