"the officials totally gave Pit the win."
The Seattle I saw looked totally hapless in the fourth quarter. I really didn't care who won, and still don't, but Pittsburgh won that game, and would have won it even without the questionable calls, IMHO.

Let's outsource the ref jobs to the Chinese, that way no referee in any game in the future, can be accused of bias.

"Seattle fans are really bad losers! Must be owned by a Democrat!" Is he the same one who overturned Hasselbeck's fumble abd the ref chose to apply the "touch" rule that applies after player is down? He did NOT apply the "Down-By-Contact" rule, which is what was applicable in that situation. Since the touch by the linebacker was incidental to Hasselbeck's fall...it did not cause him to fall nor in any way change his fall...the ball was still live when his arm hit the turf and popped out. ,B>It was, and should have remained as called on the field, a fumble.
Or how about when Jerramy caught a pass, turned and started to run and was hit and fumbled the ball, then was given the reprieve with the call that he was just too soft to make a catch under pressure rather than give the ball to Pittsburgh, as should have occurred.
If only life were as perfect as those who expect to get their way all the time think it should be. Crybabies think that everything is unfair against them all the time. The truth is, mistakes on the part of refs are seen by players themselves as part of the game, and balance out over time. Otherwise the players would have stormed off the field and refused to play again long before they ever get to the professional level. Which explains why some of the bad losers are playing the games vicariously rather than actually out there doing it.

As a 10 year soccer referee I understand the art. But the fact that at least three questionable judgement calls all went against the Seahawks and in favor of Pittsburgh raises questions about the ability of the referees.

What's funny is that the whining Seattle fans don't dispute the receiver pushed off the defender, they whine that it wasn't that hard a push. Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!Agreed ..... that's sort of DU logic.

The ball was ABOVE the goal line before B.R. was pushed back and then landed.
TD ....... and there was another down anyhow.
These criers are just ignorant.

"I feel bad for Steeler and Seahawk fans, because the entire game just sucked out loud. " Save your pity for someone who needs and wants it.
The Super Bowl was won by a superior team having a bad game, but still good enough to be a lesser team.

That's great! That's exactly how we felt about the Cowboys in the '70s and '80s, living in Houston.

The final stat, the score, is the only stat that matters.
Who said that? The coach of the Seahawks, Holmgrin, after the game.
I think he was right.
It doesn't matter how many bad calls were made, who caught or dropped the ball, who got the most first downs, who the leading passer was, who had the most yards rushing, who made or missed field goals.
The trophy went to Pittsburgh. And it will always be there, much to the chagrin of all the doubting Thomases.
Let them stick that in their pipes and smoke it.

An appearence of a conflict is a conflict. Allowing officals from home towns in super bowls should be stoped by the NFL.

"The game was unsatisfying, IMHO."
I agree. It would have much more entertaining if the officials had let them play. Two other lame calls that I saw were the long pass to inside the five yard line Seattle made during the third that was called back due to holding? Two plays latter Seattle through the interception and the quarterback made the tackle, and the officials had the nerve to call him for an illegal block. Fifteen yards?
Honestly, I almost turned it off then. The officials ruined the game for me. The announcers agreed that the holding call was suspect and the illegal block call just stupid. Tackling below the knee is perfectly legal and obviously you are not trying to block someone when you are trying to tackle them.
Whatever..... Score should have been 21-17 Seattle. As far as I am concerned Seattle won that game. They are champs.

Oh, OK. That one, I did think was questionable, for sure. It didn't really look like a pushoff to me, and it was nowhere near where the play actually ended up.
Even John Madden said that wasn't really what he would call pushing off.
