The final stat, the score, is the only stat that matters.

Who said that? The coach of the Seahawks, Holmgrin, after the game.

I think he was right.

It doesn't matter how many bad calls were made, who caught or dropped the ball, who got the most first downs, who the leading passer was, who had the most yards rushing, who made or missed field goals.

The trophy went to Pittsburgh. And it will always be there, much to the chagrin of all the doubting Thomases.

Let them stick that in their pipes and smoke it.

You are exactly right.

I was just reading an article about Seahawks' injuries that occurred during the game. Three defensive starters for Seattle went down, and Pittsburgh's few (three/four) good plays were when they capitalized on those losses. And Seattle is not blaming their loss on injuries or officials. They are blaming themselves.

I have never been a Seattle fan. Didn't know anything about them until about 6 weeks ago when my son started giving Shaun Alexander stats to hubby every Sunday afternoon. Then I started paying attention. It's hard to be a fan of a team that is a zillion miles away from "home" which is the deep South. But I watched the game last night because of Shaun (hubby and I went to Bama as well). It was not the best officiating I've ever seen. But that's the way things go sometimes. I will admit to an anti-Pittsburgh bias due to the folks we know who are Pittsburgh fans. They are a rather obnoxious lot. lol
