If you can't be there in person then sometimes the "Live Album" can be the next best thing.
Following are a few of my favorites, in no particular order. Please share some of your own!
1.
Great upbeat album. The crowds enthusiasm is infectious!
2.
This album reminds me of spying on my parents parties when they would break of this record and dance in our living room.
3.
"I killed a man just to watch him die" - Great audience response! ;o)
4.
"The King Must Die" and "Have Mercy on the Criminal" are superb!
5.
(Hand over ears) I don't care what you say - lalalalalalala - I like it! :op
Another good one. Oh Lowell, why did you leave us so early?
I'd forgotten about that one.
Time to look through my old "vinyl" again.
Great Call! Classic Marathon cut! :)
Quick story. Unbeknown to my friends, I was at this concert. My friends swore up and down that while watching the concert on tape when it first came out they all looked at each other and said they just heard me in the crowd. I bought the tape and listened and it's hard to tell your own voice so I just figured nobody can really tell for sure, bunch of drunks in the crowd, etc... A couple of years later, now married, the wife was watching the concert tape and called me into the room. She rewound the tape to the same spot that my friends had indicated and said, "listen...."
Hee, hee.... okay... so I was relatively close to the stage and I did have a few margaritas under my belt.
Ditto. I don't like it when the opening of a song is an announcement to step back from the stage by order of the Fire Marshall!
Yeah, that would kinda be disturbing.
Heard of a concert in 1989 where they had three foot of water in front of the stage.
Bump!
a moat?
They had constant rain at an outdoor event that wasn't canceled.
Folding chairs sank into the mud, coolers did the 'gopher' trick and became in ground versions, and shoes were lost to the thick syrupy muck.
I wasn' personally there at the event, but I did speak to a couple of people who were, and did personally see some items sticking out of the by then dried ground.
"Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream"
He should give you some royalties from the album. ;o)
For that song alone the album is worth buying.
Elton John Live in Australia is my favorite Live album..
Ya got good taste. :o)
MM
oh, and just between you and I...I like Barry too! ;o)
(wiping tear from eye) Thanks MM. Your secret's safe with me. ;o)
Everytime I hear "Even Now".... I still well up :o)

Very late getting to the thread, but let me second this album!
