OK, new thread for the next week, now that Pittsburgh has another Super Bowl ring.

First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.

Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 714 processors and 271 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over a 50 computers now from GetLoaded.com, a trucking support website, all contributing while their owners ply our freeways keeping the nation moving.

We now have 22 members who have contributed at least 10,000 points each. Greenbo, stylin19a, and smith288 are the latest to reach this milestone. Chesterbelloc and mediamole will join them this next week. Great job! Even dfwddr will make this mark one day ;`)

Even more impressive, our team now boasts 180 members who have folded at least 1,000 points. That is more than the entire number of folders for our erstwhile left-wing environazi competitors!

Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page

On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 268. We will be in the Top 250 on Wednesday!

As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:

Top 250 by February 10
Top 200 by the end of the February

We have 1,350,000 points so far and have folded over 10,000 WU. We will soon reach an exalted mark of folding a million points per month, each and every month! Fantastic!

Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.

The neat thing is that we always beat the projections because we keep increasing our output.

A few weeks ago we were at 28K pts/day today we are over 41K pts/day.

I'll have my new pc in a few weeks and I will be able to contribute far more than the tiny amount I have done so far.

Welcome...Check the red "flower" in about 1/2 hour....The first results are an estimate and most of the time you see the time drop to 1-3 days. (unless you have a super slow computer, which is also great to have contribute)

That's good to know, I have a pretty fast computer and DSL, is there a way I can see how much folding my computer is processing?

Welcome to the team.

Warning: Checking on Folding Stats is almost as addictive as the rest of FreeRepublic.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the welcome. I've loaned my old puter to the m.i.l. when she gets her's back, I'll piggyback it to just run foldings.

We need a few more CPUs and our march into the Top 100 is guaranteed.

At our current rate of production, we're guaranteed to be in the top 100 in 3 or 4 months. We're outproducing all but 35 of the top 100 teams, but some of those have been clocking up points for years, so they're in the megamillion point range.

I'm also not discouraging the DU team, but I can't wait until they hit that wall, around 400, where the gaps between the teams is a half-day's worth of points.... and then let the reality of the numbers sink in...

... and fear not, old klutz still has a few more tricks up his sleeve, to get us over a few of the speed bumps up ahead, that we may encounter... I'm shooting myself for the top 100 in users, a personal goal, that also helps the team along. Currently, at 1400, and moving up about 100 positions per day.

First couple of weeks, I was getting up early to check the 6am updates, and staying up past my bedtime, to catch the midnight updates.... 2 months later, I still find myself checking in a 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, 9, 12.... and sometime 3 :)

They never last 10 days unless you're running a computer that's really really old :)

How much did your recent foray with 90 add? Didn't seem as big as we'd all wish, but who am I to complain heh.

I added 3 top ends and got near 4-5 hundred a day as far as points.

I thought I was the only one!

Its pretty bad when I stay late at work just to catch the 6:00 pm update, or go to bed past midnight just to check on new folders.
