CBS Evening News contained a brief segment tonight called "State of the Media" which (among other things) discussed the impact of bloggers on traditional media. The most interesting sentence (for me) occurred in a discussion of the infamous 60 Minutes II show in 2004 concerning George Bush's alleged special treatment in the National Guard. According to the CBS announcer, when questionable documents were used in the show, "bloggers quickly EXPOSED them" (emphasis added).
Prior to the blogosphere and Internet CBS could've gotten away with unseating an incumbent President using forged documents. Any critics of their story would've been immediately and easily silenced as crackpots and conspiracy theorists.
Oooops...
The producer responsible for that slip-up is going to be looking for work... :)
1- Shock 2- Denial 3- Anger 4- Acceptance
'Acceptance'... as in lies and rationalization.
I forget where 'sorrow' fits in. Is that after 'shock' or before 'anger?' Oh, never mind. I shoulda known better than to ask. CBS=Constant BS.
And in related news: Water is wet, and the sun rises in the East. Yeah, we know they're fake, and so do you. Your credibility is shot and you're trying to gain it back by reporting on a story that wouldn't exist if you still had the power you are trying desperately to obtain again.
Get over yourselves, antique media.
