'James Bond' Director Tamahori Arrested (Hollyweird alert)

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "James Bond" director Lee Tamahori was ordered to appear in court Feb. 24 following his arrest for allegedly approaching an undercover police officer and offering to perform a sex act for money, authorities said Thursday.

Tamahori's directing credits include Pierce Brosnan's 2002 James Bond film "Die Another Day" and last year's "xXx: State of the Union," starring Ice Cube and Samuel L. Jackson.

City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said the director was dressed in a black wig and off-the-shoulder dress when he approached an undercover police officer in Hollywood on Jan. 8 and offered to perform sex for money. He was arrested for investigation of soliciting an act of prostitution and loitering with the intent to commit prostitution, both misdemeanors.

His attorney, Mark Geragos, did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday.

Mateljan said police were running a prostitution sting when Tamahori, 55, approached the officer, who was sitting in a car.

The director was originally scheduled for arraignment Thursday but it was postponed until Feb. 24.

Tamahori is free on $2,000 bail. He could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.

Over on DU they're probably saying,

"Give the guy a break. Who hasn't from time to time dressed up in drag and offered to give a guy a Lewinski."

So, besides the tinsel and glitter under the tinsel and glitter of Hollyweird is the usual perversion, treason and stupidity. Why am I not surprised? Tamahori and Hugh Grant should form a club.

Did I miss something, or is the gender of the officer carefully concealed?

I was wondering about the gender of the officer, too.

The previous Director of James Bond cross dresses. The new James Bond is afraid of guns. What's next? The new Bond Girl will be played by Dennis Rodman?

Tamahori Arraigned on Prostitution Charges

Former James Bond movie-maker Lee Tamahori was arraigned in Los Angeles yesterday after allegedly soliciting an undercover cop, while dressed as a woman. The Die Another Day director, 55, was arrested in Hollywood last month, after he approached an undercover police officer who was in his car, entered the vehicle and offered to perform a sex act for money, according to entertainment news site Tmz.com. Tamahori was arrested, booked and charged with prostitution and unlawfully loitering with the intent to commit prostitution. The director is being represented in court by Michael Jackson's former defence lawyer Mark Geragos.

So the cop was a dude. Wonder what was going on in the cop's mind. I suppose they are going to have to find a new director for Hotel Royale now.

It's kinda creepy how his eyebrows are jet black, but the rest of the hair on his head is grey and receding. What does he do? Dip his face in a bowl of hair coloring? lol
