You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Colt .45 Automatic, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Federal Liberal's Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor! Or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Colt have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behaviour. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Excellent take on the joke. As a Canadian who has lived in 4 provinces and visited all but PEI, and knowing the Toronto area like I do, I'd make the family visitors from appropriate regions who are accosted by a young Jamaican landed immigrant looking for drug money.

You're right about that - Toronto is slowly, but steadily, moving in the direction that the worst of Liberal American inner cities took years ago. Doesn't bode well.
They should have welcomed Mr. Harper and his tough conservative approach on gun crime with open arms. Instead, they shut him out entirely.
But not nearly as bad as a Manhattan resident voting for Kerry rather than. Suicidal lunacy.
Liberal thinking will change when Kerry stops speaking French.

Seems to me , where I come from , one Bang is enough . I'd say, Alberta , on the other hand , can afford more Bangs.
I concur, although he should have saved some ammo for MOVING targets on the range. Most muggers work in pairs or better here.
One kinda picky thing.......I only carry SEVEN rounds in the .45.........(but then too, I usually use 185 gr wadcutters and aim for the middle of the bridge of the nose, so any more than two BANGs doesn't leave much aiming point.)
I assume someone is watching the windows at the PMO for the next few days for signs of smoke, and the doors for extra-large outgoing containers of shredded documents. ;)

I'm with you there. With the .45's wide cross section, blunt leading edge and slow speed. Seven should be enough for any situation.
I love my .45 ACP Commander, though I also have a 6" K-Frame S&W in .38 Special. Great for pistol whipping should all else fail.
