Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Just saw an ad for the next 24.
Jack Bauer was pointing a gun at somebody and yelling.

I want to go on the Super Bowl Live Thread with
"Is the game still on?
"Who's winning?
"Why do they have to 'group hug'? Is that just a liberal Seattle thing?"

It's a tediously boring game. The *only* highlights are the rather lame commercials.
(Tho the streaking sheep commercial was pretty good.)

Jack Bauer was pointing a gun at somebody and yelling. Oh great, might as well not watch it now...
Game's on here. Don't really care. Jr. is watching it at a friend's house. I'm only still awake because I'll have to go get him when the game is over.
I've been moving furniture. Fortunately, we had the foresight to call thefloorguy to verify he'd be here tomorrow...he's coming Tuesday, so I gots more time to move crap.

Now that thenewfloor's almost in we realize we need to paint.
Can you recommend a good shade of white?

I think Yahoo is making the ads available after the game.

Heh, we're watching the SB using the DVR. ONLY way to watch a game! We can speed through the dull parts, see the highlights and the commercials! So far, I'm liking the careerbuilders.com commercals, the FedEx 'caveman' commercial, and the Budweiser one with the little baby Clydesdale; it was just too cute.

Oh, sis, I just made the MOST tasty biscuits!! I wanted some rolls that were quick, and checked allrecipes.com. I found a yeast raised biscuit recipe. It makes about 2dz. rolls. You can make the dough, bake up what you want, then put the rest of the dough in the fridge for later in the week. Heh. I baked one batch at supper, then SirKit wanted some coffee a little while ago, so I baked the second batch. MMM good!

I used a color called "Sea Island Cotton" for our foyer. It is a lovely vey pale beige. I got it from Fine Paints of Europe. The paint is more expensive than the usual, but the finish lasts longer than the typical paint, it is nicer looking, too. You can order a sample pot of it at their website

When the floor started going in we realized the pale yellow we'd been thinking about just wasn't going to work. So we're going with an off white of ~some~ kind. Right now we have hunter green in the kitchen/den, gold in the living room/dining room (office) and yellow in the foyer and upstairs hall.
I figure going to all white-ish in all of those areas will feel like moving to a bigger house.

"Sea Island Cotton" has a more pink-beige base rather than one that is yellow. Our foyer floor is slate in the green/red/purple colors, and this color looks really good with it.

Well, we've said farewell to Ruthy, she's on her way back home... won't get in till the wee hours...
Ruthy, it was so good to see you again, do check in and tell us you got home safe. :~D

Heh.
I like antique white ....or "Woodlawn Bedroom" white. Both have a warmish beige tint to them.
