Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, considering that they prolly drop their deposits once or twice a week and then your bank is notified by theirs of the draft, the funds are verified, physical check is received, processed, stamped - funds wired, check clears.
Could be up to 10 business days, 14 for larger sums.

Well, that's just it... car dealers are going to get big checks every day. They're not going to let deposits sit around. They're doing a nightly deposit I'm sure.

Some companies frown on nightly deposits for fear of robbery.
They stagger deposit days around to keep would-be thieves guessing.
I don't know if your Jeep dealer has any such qualms, but it's pretty common practice here.
Heck, even my homeowners' association hangs on to my lousy check and it doesn't clear for 10 days! $120.00, fercryingoutloud! *rolls eyes*

Dunno... but this is Bellevue... the robbers all drive beemers and make reservations for the robbery in advance. And they demand a cashier's check instead of cash. Too risky, you know...
:-)
There'd be very little cash in a car dealership deposit. Probly almost all checks. Not much risk there.

I'm at a loss. If it hasn't cleared by Monday, I'd call your bank and find out if they posted it to the wrong account or sumthin'. :-/

They've done that to me before. A long time ago... long story but the short of it was that I transferred some money (a lot to ~me~ anyway) between accounts.
They lost it. Transferred into the nethersphere. Vanished. Poof. Gone.
Took weeks to prove to them it was their problem... but I did end up getting it back.

Yikes! Well, with ~that~ type of history I'd definitely be calling.
Last thing you want is the Jeep dealer calling and asking for another check. :-/
*stretch* Well, The tilo is catching up to me, folks. I'm off to bed.
Nighty night!

I have jimson weed growing in my back yard by the back fence...it took over back there, but I don't dare make a tea out of *it*!!! LOL!!
Steve came home and I got to drink my cholesterol medicine. Saw some South Park...my favorite part came on where Cartman is trying to swim in the deep end, he finally makes it but then the rest of the kids jump in the pool and the water turns instantly yellow! LOL!!! Steve and I both think that's hysterical.
Anyway, then we heard this *bang....bang* sound and got a bit freaked out...wondering what it was. Steve went out and ran around the house yelling like the guy in Signs..."I'm out of my mind! I'm insane with anger!" It was pretty funny and I stood on the porch just howling because he had his chuck taylors on with his jeans rolled up above his ankles and he looked insane.
Then we came back in and I figured out the back screen door wasn't latched and it was banging in wind.
So I got that figured out.

Got a quick email from MAJ Bart K. His main item was that their armored humvees shrugged off two roadside IEDs. He also included a couple of photos showing how he commutes to the job every day. The stuffed tiger belongs to his daughter, while the Camillus BK3 on the left side of his IBA comes from the Hobbit Hole.
