The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hey, do your kids ever watch "It's a Big Big World" on PBS? I'm not kidding, I was watching it and it has this sloth that acts for all the world like the stoners I went to high school with! LOL I ran a search using the title and "stoned" as the search terms and seems I'm not alone in that opinion! LOL!

I haven't seen that show. Then again, if it's on in the middle of the day that would explain why. :-D

LOL @ stoner sloth.

Re: your tagline...man, Simon is brutal, isn't he?

One of these days I'm gonna at least watch an episode or two, though I dunno how long I could stand it!

But I guess I said something wrong or the wrong way.

No no, not really. We taunted everyone else for not noticing things sooner. Did not mean to taunt for lurking.

You'd love it. He is brutal, but it is tough love. He does these kids a *great* service because it is often the first time they've been given an honest critique. Their parents and friends lie, but Simon doesn't.

Both options sound highly edible...

Not quite dinner time yet here, but I'm hungry.

The ironic thing for me is that I hate his voice. It's so whiney and condescending. LOL
