Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...since I don't *really* want a job here, maybe I should just say all the things I've been wanting to say at other interviews, but didn't.
Do the opposite!

Heh. Do ya think I'd get in trouble if I made it my wallpaper here at work?
To: 2Jedismom
I just dunno what I'd do if I actually got *offered* a job even after being goofy. ;-) Be a hard decision. Considering the first of my furniture is bein' picked up tonight, though...well...you know.
...Glad to know things are going a *little* better, at least!
To: Overtaxed
I dare you...
My grandfather (Mom's Dad) was just a wee bit obsessed with John Wayne, to say the least. The downstairs portion of the house was more or less his - had a workbench area and then a room with a bar and dart board and TV and all. That room was practically a shrine to John Wayne...pictures and stuff all over.
One of the few times he ever got mad at me was when a few of us were kinda rough housing down there, and I knocked a picture down and broke the frame. Ya don't mess with Duke!

Heh, Paul interviewed for a summer job at a law firm for which he didn't think he was qualified, he just had them on the list. He was very relaxed, as a result, and they assured him that he didn't need a technical degree to do patent or intellectual property law. He got the job, then later that summer, they offered him the permanent job for when he graduates.

Heh...I could just make up all kinda stuff. Instead of working from my resume, I could tell them all about that summer I spent working as a housekeeper on a Vogon space cruiser. Stuff like that.
To: SuziQ
Yeah, bookcases have been claimed. The other stuff may be trickier. I can pack books up (and have), but it's a little harder to go without a bed or desk. Granted, I have an air mattress and I can use the table, but...
Part of it is just that I wuv my desk. I really wish I could take it with me. Unfortunately it's big, vey solid, and weighs approximately three tons. Wouldn't fit in the van, really, and I'm kinda thinkin' the post office wouldn't exactly ship it for me...
To: RosieCotton
You should do that. It'd be fun.

You might want to practice laughing loudly and randomly inappropriate times. Like when they are talking about benefits or something.
To: TalonDJ
Or pay. Just go off into gales of laughter, preferrably to the point of tears.

Goodie tooshoes?
Oh, dear!
No pervs here!
Just trying to fit in with the language here.
But I guess I said something wrong or the wrong way.
I'll go slither under my rock now.

Ha! And then once they'd fallen asleep or been knocked out by the stuff, I could draw mustaches and such on 'em.
To: Pippin
It's a very shiny ring, isn't it? :-D
