I have never understood how my colleagues with kids can take the Road Warrior life. It is a bizarre lifestyle.
I assume from your post that those days are over for you?
Consultant on the road is the only profession I know where people congratulate you for leaving.

I thought she loosened up a bit this week. I think its down to her and Mandisa among the women.
McPhever can sing her nice ass off, but she has to watch the song choices. Knocking down some Aretha didn't hurt her this week at all, but you get the sense that Madisa would control the planet with the same material.

I agree with you. Madisa may have junk in the trunk but she has power vocals (ala Patti Labelle) that commanded respect.
McPhever needs to work into the feminine stuff -- more seductive, less power vocals -- or you are right, Madisa will crush her. But will America select a chunky mama in the long run? Sadly, I think not, even if she is the best singer.
I agree. McPhee's version was a pale imitation, esp. when you think of Aretha in that magnificent scene from "The Blues Brothers".
Mandisa is the only one who can hold a candle to the original Aretha.

I watched exactly one episode of 24 and since it didn't track with its conceit, I never wached it again. I mean if this is "real time" why doesn't Jack use the can?
Besides, from what I have read, the foundation is that everyone in every level and office in government is evil, which I find to be too cynical for my taste.
One way to tell if real or not is to look at the butt. If it got junk then odds are slim that the rack is full of funk.
Well, Edgar was found to be using a Mac and they killed him this week.

Truckers are the ones who really do that all the time.
Problem is they don't dispose of it in trash cans or pour it out in rest stops, they just throw it out the window on public roads.

Last week two of the bottom 4 did indeed get booted off and that went for the guys, too. This week they flat out cal lfor the bottom two to go. Any two from the bottom 4 is fine with me.
Easy to pick the best this week. Mandisa demolished everyone.

I'm not sure if I'm just in a bad mood tonight or if that really was a bunch of the most terminally boring performances I've seen in years. The only one I voted for tonight was Mandisa (and I am pleased to report that, an hour after the show ended, there were still a few busy signals when I tried to call in for her).
I'm getting very annoyed with the judges, particularly Simon. I guess he was in a bad mood tonight, too. He was certainly nasty enough to almost everyone.
And I am sick of them all kowtowing to Paris. Boring performance. If anyone else had turned that in they would have ripped her a new one. And "McPheever"? Puh-leeze. Cute term, but I'll wait for her to live up to it. A galloping case of "white chick trying to sing soul" tonight. Better than last week, but that's all I can say for it.
I actually liked the Gherkin a little tonight. She finally embraced her true trailer-park genre and went for it. Not unwatchable.
I'm likin' the guys better and better. And I don't think it's just my hormones talking!
