Anyone's guess who does it this year though.....

Copacobana kid. Wasn't it Bobby?

Oh yeah. I don't think he met Manilow, he just talked to him through the camera. "Love you, Barry" or something like that.

Tell him he was really good. I just listened to the songs without watching and his song was really good. I am so relieved he was safe.

Whitney Houston...actually that would make a pretty funny SNL skit.

Joe Scarborough is on in the other room, and he mentioned something about American Idol coming up on his show in a few minutes...???

Jonny, I wish Taylor could do this song. It would be within his style, but would be really different for him: The Comedians originally sung by Roy Orbison. Not his most famous song, but it's really good and interesting. Manilow called Taylor a whiskey tenor. This song is written for that kind of voice, and it has a dramatic melody. It's on the 'Black and White Night' album I told you about awhile back. Here's the complete lyrics:

I sat there alone upon the ferris wheel
A pastel colored carriage in the air
I thought you'd leave me dangling for a little while
A silly twist upon a childish dare

Below I saw you whispering to another man
Who held the lever that could bring me down
He'd stop the world from turning at your command
It's always something cruel that laughter drowns

And I'm up while the dawn is breaking
Even though my heart is aching
I should be drinking a toast
To absent friends
Instead of these comedians

I can hardly hear the music from the carousel
The wind picks up, the carriage starts to sway
As one by one the lights go out
It's closing time
I see you take his hand and walk away, walk away

They say that you will always be the last to know
They say that all that glitters is not gold
It's not just that you're never coming back to me
It's the bitter way that I was told

And I'm up while the dawn is breaking
Even though my heart is aching
I should be drinking a toast
To absent friends
Instead of these comedians

Another good one for Taylor would be 'Running Scared.' Ace should try 'Pretty Woman,' both because it would suit his voice and because he needs to sing something less 'gay.'

LOL! That could be a theme night. Everyone singing Captn' and Tenille. :) That would be funny in a screamin and runnin from the room sort of way.

Can we add Dolly Parton to the list of judges? I would like to see Simon's reaction to her.

That was a pretty stupid end of South Park...but I understand what they were doing.

Issac Hayes (Chef's voice) left SP because he's a member of that cult, Scientology and he was mad because SP mocked it.

Hence..."we shouldn't be mad at chef for leaving, we should be bad at that sick gay club for brainwashing him..."

Yep no favors, but if it backfires she will sue. That would be fun to watch.

Yes, if it's true.

She comes for North Carolina, an Atlantic state, and she never had salmon before?

And they serve it to kids in school here--it's not an exotic dish. The "calamari" thing I could believe, but not "saLmon".

I love Roy Orbison...but I don't think I would want anyone singing his songs. I had a really hard time with Chris doing Johnny Cash last night. That was one of my criticisms of the movie, Joaquin could sing but I would rather of heard Johnny Cash's real voice. The lyrics in the song you posted were nice. I've never heard that one. i might have to go buy that c.d.

Funny, I was thinking Ace should have sung 'Venus' for the 50's night, for the same reason. :)

Didn't Glenn Beck say that Isaac Hayes has been in a coma and didn't really quit the show? That someone did it for him? Or was that a joke?

Pickler is a total fake - I cannot stand that shrew. Every week she gets more phony. Carrie was genuine and America stuck with her. Eventually the AI voters will see through her act. AI has been shameless this season in the way they pimp certain performers.

Exactly. Even kids raised in deepest, darkest Kansas, or someplace equally as far from the oceans, would be exposed to salmon from the local supermarket frozen or in cans.

LOL! Captain and Tenille theme night! All the female contestants could do their hair in that horrible "roll forward" Toni Tenille style!! As for Simon and Dolly ...someone would get a black eye. And it would'nt be Dolly!!

LOL With all his negative comments about her, I could just see her getting in his face and telling him what for!
