Either three kneel-downs and then a FG or three conservative rushes - meaning, running with both hands around the ball - would've done the trick.

The phrase ...
"Idiot Kicker"
... will be heard numerous times during the offseason.

This is why this weekend is my favorite of the whole playoffs.

Now we got the Panthers/Bears in what should be a defensive struggle.I like Carolina, who do you like? 1,053 posted on 01/15/2006 4:24:10 PM ESTI like the Panthers too. The panthers are probably the most talented team in the NFL.

Has "icing the kicker" EVER worked? There's a first time for everything, apparently. And we saw a lot of "first times" in this game!

With 30 seconds remaining why wouldn't they just try to move the chains? Play a little side line football. There certainly was enough time left to get a closer field goal try. Oh well, on to the important game of the day.
Go Bears!

A 55-yarder is a long FG attempt. A 45 to 46 yarder in a dome should be made a decent place kicker. In any non-playoff game, I'd say yes. But kickers are flaky types and some don't take pressure well...

Hope you have the Bears -3/over 30 like me.
The Steelers' win puts me at 2-0-1 against the line and 2-1 against the over/under.

I know they have to but it always cracks me up when one channel contiues to cover the game that just ended, KNOWING everyone has already switched to the other game's channel :)

They had to try to move the ball. The Colts would have called 3 time outs and we would have given them the ball back with just a few seconds taken off the clock. Getting the TD would have made it a 10 point lead with about the same ammount of time taken off the clock. 2 score lead is better than a 1 score lead. It was the absolute right call, going for the throat and trying to seal the victory.

Barely. The CBS announcers are TRASHING the refereeing ... I'll let you guess which calls are being discussed ...
