red oak has a terrible habit of swelling and warping, is it solid wood or fiberboard?

Ok, beginning to run out of woodworking equipment here,

lathes, hammer drills, electric screwdrivers, belt sanders, vibrating sanders, 4 cutters, 6 cutters, hand planers, compressers, nail guns, gas guns.....

I can pretty much guarantee you that this red oak will not swell and/or warp in this climate. As a matter of fact, most people have to go to extreme measures to make sure the wood in their furniture is moist.

It's solid, except for the back and the drawer bottoms.

Mostly with oils, rather than sprays, which are OK, but I prefer something with a little substance for my soild woods.

Old English and Murphy's Oil Soap come to mind...and there is also a beeswax...Howard's, I believe is the name of it.

I didn't see mention of bandsaws and plug-cutters there.

What about drawknives and spokeshaves? I really wouldn't expect you to have a froe.

I thought they were both rather complete, though I suspect KAC's are much more suitable for me. I'm slightly familiar with a lot of IT's because of the fact that my dad was a carpenter.

But a froe is not a tool name I recognize.

A froe is like a modified drawknife. It's used to split shingles, especially as from cedar rounds.

Early American woodworkers could build an entire house completely out of wood.

(Going for Pizza, be right back.)

Forgot those, we don't have drawknife, though.

Ok, I will just become economically inviable by slowing down by using outdated tools.

I always thought if you used the hand tools and lots of patience and care, your item would look better and last longer...not to mention being cared for...

But what do I know?
