Perhaps the first thing that leaps out is that it's a very Beatle-centric list. "Sgt. Pepper" is No. 1 as it often is in such lists, but two of the top three albums are by the Beatles, three of the first five and four of the first 10.
The first 10 are:
1) "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles 2) "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys 3) "Revolver" by the Beatles 4) "Highway 61 Revisited" by Bob Dylan 5) "Rubber Soul" by the Beatles 6) "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye 7) "Exile on Main Street" by the Rolling Stones 8) "London Calling" by the Clash 9) "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan 10) "The Beatles" (The White Album) by the Beatles

Personally, I'd put Revolver ahead of Sgt. Pepper, but Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus ahead of all of them.

Any list so Anybody-centric is useless as anything but a list of favorite albums by a certain band's fans. This list seems to come out every other year, and with the same results.
I'd much prefer lists by decade--Best 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's-so-far.

Why people always mention the Clash like they were the 2nd coming of the Beatles or something always amazes me. They SUCKED. (The Clash did, not the Beatles)

"What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye
Best make-out album, ever. :)
I'd bump Little Feat up a few notches, too.

I like Rubber Soul best, and Abbey Road ahead of Pepper. Its so hard to pick! The Clash London Calling is fabulous as well, Bob's my favorite, so I'm biased.

With all the Beatles albums in the list, I'm surprised Abbey Road didn't make it. That's my favorite of the bunch.

Oh my. My eyes rolled when I listened when it came out and they have continued to roll every time I listened. Most pompous album ever cut.

Its personal taste, I love the Clash, bought the first album when it came out in 1977. London Calling is excellent, one of the greatest albums ever, IMNSHO.

.....but Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus ahead of all of them.WFC is indeed tremendous (one of the best live albums of all time), but I'd put Feat's Dixie Chicken ahead of it. All in all, an underrated band. ....and Lowell George was a seriously underrated guitarist, especially on slide.

I'd represent the Beatles with "Help" and "Abbey Road," rather than "Rubber Soul" and Sgt. Pepper.
I also consider the Monkees' "Pisces, Capricorn, Aquarius and Jones, Ltd." and the Raiders' "Spirit of '67" to be among the best albums of the era, although I gather the list doesn't specify the 60s.

I'm surprised Abbey Road didn't make it. That's my favorite of the bunch. I hear ya. My Beatles top five: 1) Abbey Road, 2) Rubber Soul, 3) Revolver, 4) Sgt. Pepper, 5) Let it Be (despite the sloppy Phil Specter production).

2) "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys If SMiLE would have been released in 1967 this list would have looked very different. The Beatles just had better marketing IMHO.
