New thread for this week.
Congrats to all new members who joined this week!
We've made excellent progress so far and have smoked the DUmmies and Kossacks. Let's keep folding!
Jim, this no different that SETI@HOME that's been running for years. It's simply FOLDING@HOME. There's no risk. Specifically to you, there's nothing you would particularly have to do. We FreeRepublic folders aren't asking you specificially to to anything.
What we are asking is that you let us FR folders just let our threads live in the technical forum. A mod spiked our thread in the technial forum. I can't imagine a more appropriate forum than that.
That's all. We're ROCKING! We've got enough power to hit the top 100 in this distributed computing project. In fact, we're likely to hit the top 50 in about 6 months. That's a pretty big deal, all things considered.
Well, I think you should take it somewhere else. FR's not interested.
Well, that could have gone better.
Sorry. Should've kept my big fat mouth shut.
Pretty much a kick in the nuts, and re-inforcement of the "grumpy old conservative" stereotype.
Mine does respond to this setting every time. Do you have anything else running?
Sokay. Will pull my CPUs tomorrow.
I am disappointed that JR did not understand that we weren't asking for his support or participation....just an opinion on where we should put the threads.
Ping your list. Jim Rob does not support this project. All should bug out now.
LOL! Ya think? ;-)
It'll be interesting to pull the plug on all this effort.
adjusting my tag.
I don't think so. I'll fold if I want to...and I want to. I don't need his support.
wow, that's gonna be a couple hours to undo.
DU is gonna be happy bout this.
Perhaps a team name change is in order.
oh man... let's not do that.
If we just fold, then we've validated the DU's position, because there are just "SOME" freepers, who just don't get it.
The way to win here, is to keep pressing on, get into the top 100, IN SPITE OF, the ignorance of the facts, and the obstinance of some.
It's real apparent, that Jim didn't even take the time to glance at the Stanford web site, and already had a pre-judged opinion.
That's the kind of thinking, that I thought Free Republic was setup to counteract. READ the facts, then form opinions, not form judgement on prior prejudices.
Sure, fold how you want to. I'll join any team who wants me. Freerepublic wants no part of folding. I'm out.
I'm still in too. This goes beyond beating the DU.... this does do good things... so what if we can't put FR's name behind it?! Change the name; stay in General/Chat; if the Equine Club is allowed there, then we can have our Right Wing Computer Geek threads.
KD, I'm with you. I'm not folding...therefore I'll keep folding.
You're leaving FR?
