For the man who has everything or someone really desperate to find a last-minute gift Joel Krupnik and Mildred Castellanos have an answer: Their red-suited Santa Claus figure, holding a bloody knife in one hand and a severed doll's head in the other, went up for auction on Christmas Day.
Already, bidding had reached $200 and "might go higher, maybe even to $500," the New York Post quoted Krupnik as saying.
Lest anyone be offended and some people were Krupnik had explained earlier that the macabre holiday display outside the couple's midtown Manhattan home was intended as a protest against the commercialization of Christmas.
The bids were to be deposited in a box next to the 5-foot tall Santa, to be opened after 3 p.m. Krupnik, whose telephone is unlisted, could not be reached late Sunday afternoon for a final accounting.
The auction proceeds would go to the highest bidder's favorite charity, according to a sign next to the display, which also included a number of other Barbie doll heads.
As for any critics suggesting the display was sacrilegious, Krupnik said St. Nick "is not in the Bible. He's not a religious symbol."

Don't bother. This story may have sparked a lot of talk in NY, and on TV. It may have been the cover story of both local tabloids twice. It still needed to be moved to chat immediately, because there is so much else going on in the world tonight.
OH, Good Grief thats gross. LOL

I have seen every Hadji snuff-flick they've put out. The Dave Berg Show was most disturbing, but not the worst of them. The Mooj use them as recruiter films.
The American people aren't permitted to see the Sept. 11th footage, let alone the snuff-flicks.
But we're supposed to allow the graphic portrayal of a beheading to stand, and we're permitted to bid on ownership.
What the hell am I doing in Iraq?
I believe I heard on Fox & Friends this morning that someone from this family is going to be on their show.
Some people are just so demented.
Yeah, sure. As if he has any credibility.
This Christmas-hating lunatic's elitist, unmitigated contempt for Christians, Christmas, and the Christmas of America is outrageous.
This crackpot demonstrate a visceral hatred of Christians, Christmas, and its sacred meaning to billions of people around the world. There's a place for sickos like this: a padded cell, in straitjackets.
Better yet, Joel and Mildred, and Darla (their daughter) if you don't like the way I celebrate Christmas, then GTH out of my country.
Many people are outraged at the display. It's more revealing that these self-absorbed individuals reside in a country where Christmas, and its icons, in all of their permutations, are revered.....and that these individuals have so little respect for other people's feelings.
Santa is associated with the joy of children at Christmas so that the display is more horrific when one discerns the mindset of these individuals who would scandalize children in such a horrific manner.
Only serioulsy deranged minds would engage in this kind of atrocity.

---I totally agree with you.
Wonder what this Christian-hating maniac plans to pull off for Easter.
NO! This can not be.. the person behind the display is protesting capitalism (esp. surrounding Christmas).... isn't he? I am so confused.....

I find these kind of people aren't so much anti-Christian as they are anti-religious. It's what Xmas represents to them -- any kind of organized religion, especially one rooted in Western tradition.
Only a secular liberal would put up this display. It is basically an act of hostility, a way of saying: to hell with all of you; I am my own universe & there is no Supreme Being. Anyone more conservative, whether or not he's Christian, generally respects the concept of Divine authority. (I'm Jewish, and I found this display offensive.)
Ironically, this guy would never make fun of Hindu or Buddhist holidays because these religions are too remote to him to be a threat. If anything, he would commend Indians or Asians in the name of "diversity." Even Islam he would leave alone, or profess respect. Probably he'd be afraid of getting beaten up.
At the end of the segment he wished Brian a Happy Holiday. Brian responded by saying, "Coming from you after what you have done means a whole lot to me."
Now that Christmas is over, I am going to say "Happy Holiday" to everyone on New Year's Eve/Day.
The Left insisted that "all holidays" were being lumped together. I am going to INSIST that the other holidays get the same label then.
Same with the Fourth of July, Reverend MLK Jr. Day, etc. etc...
