They'll get by as long as they don't do anything similar with the Prophet Mohammed. Then the writers and producers will be targeted for assassination like Van Gogh.
Geez. What it must be like to wake up every day expecting/hoping to be offended/dissed.
I am Catholic myself, and did not see the episode, but I do have a question. Were they insulting Mary, or were they insulting the human beings that try to gain attention for themselves by claiming to see images of Mary in things like grilled cheese sandwiches?
"Remember, they chose to insult Our Blessed Mother on the eve of the Immaculate Conception, and the holy day itself."
Satan inspired no doubt. The sad thing is for some, desecrating holy things is "funny".
None of you understand that it was a parody of the recent reports about a recent statue of the HM that was reportedly bleeding. Thats what SP does, it makes fun of daily happenings in this country.
I stopped watching South Park after the Mel Gibson episode last season.
We know that God is just, and He will smite these decadent infidels in this decadent culture in His own time.

On second thought, maybe they had something there.
Bad taste still isn't against the law...unless you're a Moooslim.
The sad part about it is that this type of material is credited with "creativity". This type of material is easy. I picture stoned teenagers writing down their musings.
That AIN'T right.
Take a number.
Bet you Donohue didnt get so excited when South Park took on Tom Cruise and the Scientologists a few weeks ago. He might even have thought it was funny.
Another reminder of why I don't watch South Park. While I recognize the value of satire, South Park generally takes it to the extreme, and I don't find it amusing.
That said, they can do as they wish. I just won't watch the program.
South Park ping
Why do you watch stuff, that you know is going to offend you, and make you mad?
At its worst, it was career suicide.
What did this "season" bring? Five new episodes? Six maybe? I don't remember any of them, to be honest. And if all this franchise can produce is half a dozen efforts a year, then it's not worth watching anymore.
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
Well this Catholic does not ask for an apology. I hardly see South Park as the perveyor of a new wave of Catholic hatred. Poor taste perhaps, but I'd like to see someone whos actually harming this great nation and religion apologize for it.. not some crude cartoonists.
