I really can't picture the Pope watching this episode--presumably dubbed into German. Or Latin?
I highly doubt Benedict XVI has a sense of humor. I know he doesn't tolerate any who has questions on matters of faith, unlike his predecessor.

they're making fun of people who think they're cured by anything coming out of a statue. Not to mention a healthy dose of mocking the very attitudes displayed on this thread. ;~D

I know they've done mohamed. I just bet they have it in the back of their minds that it could get their throats slit.

The sad part about it is that this type of material is credited with "creativity". This type of material is easy. I picture stoned teenagers writing down their musings.

We get it. And it's still not funny. Then you really shouldn't watch it.
Really.

They are satirical.
Personally, I don't believe in being satirical using sacred things and some of the other things they do. I don't watch it because of some of that. I don't like the rudeness or the crudeness.
But getting in a huff about South Park means you would have to be in a huff a lot of the time. It's a show that has people from the left and the right who hate it.

Oh, wait ... stupid me - we're only supposed to mock Christianity. I think you missed a couple of episodes, too. No one is exempt from the South Park treatment.

This type of material is easy. Those guys make a lot of money. You should consider getting into it, since it's so easy.

Why would any adult watch such childish filth?
Because they lack sophistication. Their senses of humor have not matured and they still giggle when someone says "tinkle."

Watching South Park and and complaining about being offended is like going to a strip club and being surprised that there are naked people.

Why would any adult watch such childish filth? Because it's not childish at all... The guys are funny... and the bonus is they're usually right.
Example: Liberals like to talk about the virtues of stem cell research, Matt and Trey show Christopher Reeve sucking on a fetus during an interview on the Larry King show. They don't beat around the bush. They put put the issues out there and do it vividly so no one can miss it.
I am a big fan of societal niceties, and not really even a fan of vulgarity. But I make an exception for South Park. It's not for everyone... but it is dang good.

A reporter says, The pope investigated further and determined that the statue was not bleeding out its ass, but its vagina. To which the pope replies: A chick bleeding out her vagina is no miracle. Chicks bleed out their vaginas all the time.
That AIN'T right.

I agree with another poster, that SP was making fun of those who believe in the bleeding statues and the toast on E-bay, etc., but I still didn't think it was funny.
My favorite SP episode is an old Halloween episode that had Barbara Streisand in "Spooky Vision" and they had four Barbara heads that kept morphing through her different hairstyles. Now that was scary! And funny.

I didn't watch it last night. I am a fan, but have been uncomfortable a couple of times so I turned it off. I didn't care for the one where they crapped out their mouths, and this last one probably would have made me change the channel. That is why I have a remote, to change the channel when something is on that I don't like. I do enjoy the saddam ones where he is the devil's boyfriend. I also like their dreidel song on one of the holiday shows. The picture you posted made me laugh again when I started remembering the episode....funny!

I find alot of the episodes hysterical. There's not much that offends me. But this was a over the top.
Guess it all depends on which show or celebrity is doing the satire, huh?

You know what Santa says:
He pronounces that Christmas should be a day for everyone to remember that brave man named Jesus. Jesus rescued Santa from the Iraqis.
