LOL! It's a phrase that Paris Hilton says a lot.
That's hot...
Oh yeah, you're right, she does say that a lot, doesn't she? Lol
And interestingly enough, it's irrelevant to the rest of the strip. I'll admit, I'm not above that sort of thing.
Thanks for your very kind comments. You even got my gender right (many assume I'm a man for some reason).
That's a nice drawing of Churchill on your home page and a powerful (old) quote by him. He was very far-sighted.
Have you heard the Teaching Company lectures on Churchill by Rufus Fears? Another Freeper, jalisco555, turned me on to him. Dr. Fears brings history alive. I've enjoyed the Teaching Company CDs on Robert Greenberg's history of music for years. It is always wonderful to learn (that's why I love being a professor). I'm absorbed into the history of the Renaissance DVDs by William Kloss now. 18 hours of lectures for $99 when on sale. Definitely worth it. I know much of this, but I'm learning much more.
I nearly fell down laughing when I read Medi Shark's comment: "Iraqui freedom fighters make forgiveable mistake in Jordan". Damn if that doesn't sound like an NPR soundbite.
I was originally going to throw in there after that comment: "Likely Bush's fault." I figured the strip was complex enough, though.
But the linkeage to other forms of art (other media) is powerfully helpful...
I'm hoping you're one of the people enlightened enough to consider cartooning a true art form.
I teach an interdisciplinary course in 19th and 20th century art that mixes visual art, music, literature and philosophy. I do Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls, because I love the intersection of love and war and the cubist and direct way he writes. Did you know that he bought Miro's The Farm when in the first year or two after it was painted, for about $125 or so? He was also inspired by Cezanne's Mt. Ste. Victoire at the Met; perhaps that is the escarpment upon which the character dies (in that saturation bombing...I've forgotten his name) in the book. There is also a musical and very visual quality to his writing.
I love anyone who is inspired by Rothko!!
Wow...and you're a Republican???? Amazing.
Then you love me...and I love you! God bless us. Keep doing it.
Here is my favorite Rothko (looking at it as we speak)...
Very good, P.
You'll have to let us know how that Hewitt, Diaz, Alba, thing goes.
Oh in the name of humanity, the sacrifices.
lol.
Lol, I was wondering if anyone would comment on that.
wow, you are a cartoonist! cool!
Yeah, the official posting time is Tuesdays and Fridays at 6 pm.
I had seen them on Pookies but did not know they were yours
Yeah, that's where she gets 'em. Mystery solved!
Pookie is a HE.. not she!
lol
A fabulous job once again, my dear!
The talent pool in Free Republic is bigger than the stack of white napkins in Jacques Chirac's basement (and that's BIG ).
