set up in a way so that the state's Dating Services Law did not apply to itWhen a state has a "Dating Services Law," I think it's time to move to another state.

Well, whatever the women are like, either the company was in compliance with the state's law, or not; and the company either performed as was contracted, or not. A simple business law case.

One woman was refunded the $1,000 she paid for a six-month membership. The other gets the nearly $3,800 she paid for a 54-month deal. I still can`t believe people pay that much for this.

Okay.. the serious part first...
Great Expectations had claimed its operation was set up in a way so that the state's Dating Services Law did not apply to it. It plans to appeal the ruling.
Sounds like they set up their organization to cheat losers out of their $$$!
Okay - now back to the fun!

A friend signed up for Great Expectations. She filled out the questionnaire and sent in the fee. The result? She got a letter and her check back saying, "You are incompatible."

Is there anyway I could sue all the girls who DON'T RETURN PHONE CALLS after a date? Could I at the very least have the right to make their life a living hell for a week?

the Internet dating service Great Expectations has to refund all their fees after dashing their expectations. One woman was refunded the $1,000 she paid for a six-month membership. The other gets the nearly $3,800 she paid for a 54-month deal. With rates like that, they ought to be called "Mind-boggling Outrageously Unrealistic Expectations".

Sounds like they got a rebate back on their Ugly Tax assessment.

Oh, and BTW, who the heck would fork over that kind of money for a lousy dating service? Take that same money and go on a singles cruise or something.
I can't imagine being that desperate for a man.

Women Get Thousands After They Don't Get Dates The headline is misleading... the article says that they're only getting a refund, not getting any damages, et. al. The better story would be on why these people paid so much for a dating service in the first place, not on the fact that they got a refund because it didn't work.
