A Manhattan judge is siding with two women who didn't get dates.
The judge says the Internet dating service Great Expectations has to refund all their fees after dashing their expectations.
One woman was refunded the $1,000 she paid for a six-month membership. The other gets the nearly $3,800 she paid for a 54-month deal.
The judge said, "There was a massive overcharge by the dating service."
Great Expectations had claimed its operation was set up in a way so that the state's Dating Services Law did not apply to it. It plans to appeal the ruling.

set up in a way so that the state's Dating Services Law did not apply to itWhen a state has a "Dating Services Law," I think it's time to move to another state.

Let me by the first to say it: "NO PICTURES PLEASE!!!" I'd be willing to bet that physical attractiveness wasn't an issue with these two women. They were probably total, let's see, there's a word for it somewhere, I think it begins with the letter C. Yeah, that's it!

Well, whatever the women are like, either the company was in compliance with the state's law, or not; and the company either performed as was contracted, or not. A simple business law case.

Okay.. the serious part first...

Sounds like they set up their organization to cheat losers out of their $$$!
Okay - now back to the fun!

not I, those two women. Great Expectations should be replaced by the "Maybe You'll Get Some But Don't HOld Your Breath" Agency.

A friend signed up for Great Expectations. She filled out the questionnaire and sent in the fee. The result? She got a letter and her check back saying, "You are incompatible."
