Human bones thought to be Roman (Malmesbury)

[A]rchaeologists now say the skeletons could date back 2000 years due to the non-Christian burial style. Simon Haggarty, Director of The Old Bell, said: "The hotel dates back to 1220 so it's not surprising that these bones are even earlier than that."

Probably the dead guy tried skippin' out on the bill at the inn that stood on the same site in Roman times. ;') Or died of food poisoning from eating there. ;')

The Old Bell: built in 1220 and reputed to be the oldest purpose built hotel in England.
