I'm recovering fine, it happened two-and-a-half months ago.

Ouch!
Glad to hear you're coming along fine. Hopefully there is no permanent damage.
Best of luck and a full recovery asap.

Taster Ovens are real high. Microwaves used a few minutes a day is no big deal. Crock pots shouldn't be a big deal either.

here I sit, sipping a beer, surfing the net, listening to the sound of my clothes going 'round in the drier...
listening to the bass thumping of ghetto-dirges...
waiting for the inevitable gunfire to commence...
My proximal neighbors have been gently reminded of the "300 meter rule" regarding firing guns in the air.
My animals are safely indoors.
I have had a productive day.
I left some blood on the job.
the horse stalls are nearing completion, and are the usual tanks KODT and I are wont to build.
I look back on the past 365 days, and see that -though they may have gone more smoothly and with fewer bouts of illness- in all they were good. Some things important to me happened, the fruits of which continue to swell on the branch.
I have known grief. I have known a very personal despair. I have known deep envy and regret. I have known the discomfort, inconvenience, and real fear of serious and persistent illness.
I came to know a pure joy. I have come to feel a form of hope which seems to cost me nothing, and even seems to give me strength. I have come to better understand and more freely feel love. I have begun to learn of true endurance.
I have learned much that I didn't know.
I have learned more deeply how much more there is I do not know, and this is a joy to me.
I have sharpened my wit and honed my art.
I have improved my understanding of logic and reason.
I have grown in many ways more patient.
*though humility eludes me as yet*
-I also have built the coolest bow on the planet. so there.-
*see?*
Looking back, I see how very much a part of me you all have become. And how welcome and cherished a part. You all help me to be more the man I would choose to be, and for that you have my deepest gratitude.
May the coming year be kind to all of you.
Happy New Year

The fellow I was remembering as Mr. Ball was apparently Canadian Dr Gerald Bull.

Thanks KP, and a Happy New Year to you.
As a famous Canuck once said, 'Keep yer stick on the ice'. To that I have to add, 'and your head up'.

of course, you are doubly lucky, as you also have The Furry One for a brother.
We feel likewise about Our fortune in having you, and your dear family.
