My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Boxing Day
The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.
Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.

Tell me a story.
One of old
reeky caverns
and pots of gold
Tell me a story
of leprechauns small
the little people
living under the wall
Tell me a story of
olden times
and rime covered
quarries in a
diamond mine.
Tell me a story, please
of knights
dueling in marshes and bogs
by moonlight
Ladies fair, covered in moss
winds off the craggy cliffs
both strong and stiff
And the stench of the old
ones wailing all night
with screaming banshees
on the fourth night.

THE MAGIC TREE
My daughter has a magic tree
It grows in a pot on her lanai
One day a few months ago
It had little white blossoms all over
But they disappeared in a few days
Now it has a dozen oranges
Just hanging there like Christmas ornaments
I'm going to keep an eye on that tree
No telling what it will do next
I'm hoping for pineapples or Asian pears

Christmas continues...
I see thee, little child in your mother's lap.
In you the impossible has come to be,
Creator enters creation and takes a nap
As mother you did make sings lullaby to thee.
(I wrote that as an exercise in writing a 4 line stanza, but it wants to be longer. Something to work on later!)

Oh structured poetry. Yikes. I am a rebel. Free Verse for me.
Bravo for you to do this. I just loose it when I try.
