"We're so glad to see so many of you lovely people here tonight...
...We would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Illinois' law enforcement community who have chosen to join us here at the Place Hotel Ballroom at this time. We certainly hope you all enjoy the show and remember people that no matter who you are and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there's still some things that make us all the same...
...You, me, them, everybody..."
" You know people, when you do find that special somebody, you gotta hold that man, hold that woman, love him, please him, squeeze her, please her, signify your feelings with every gentle caress because its so important to have that special somebody to hold, to kiss, to miss, to squeeze, and please "
Welcome to the thread. Good evening. So far great :)
Interesting. I am a chestnut.
A critic on pop culture, or a bunch of nerds with too much time on their hands...take your pick.
I'm glad you looked that up, I back out of my post I was going to send you that it's a requirement tonight that you must state what type of tree you are and if you're not sure, there's a site listed above but I see you are on the ball! Impressive!
I try to be on top of things.
Apple Tree here.
Someone gave me the book The Flying Cavalier by Gilbert Morris, and it's the same way. The story is set in 1908, and a lieutenant in the British Royal Flying Corps goes to France to train.
On Christmas Eve, he meets a young woman, Noelle, by accident (literally). It's a great story filled with romance, heartbreak, and redemption. Nothing vulgar, which is what makes it a great story in my eyes.
I think it's going alright.
That sounds good. I was planning a romantic, non-explicit, subplot for my own story to add depth.
Me too, a well written book would leave the rest to imagination. I've read "those" types of books before, I just feel like I'm invading in someone's "private moments". I also wonder how the author's can face friends and family, I'd be too embarassed. Some things are better left unsaid.
I was hoping you were paying attention. Romance is good, pornography is bad.
Agree.
Yes I was. Agree.
Well, I'm outa here. A little reading then bed. Nite
Goodnight :)
I especially like it because there's a scene in the book where there's a spiritual struggle after a major heartbreak, and a Reverend is there to present Jesus as the answer. You don't see that very often.
It lasts for two pages, and it is very critical to the story.
Goodbye, horn beamie.
The Flying Cavalier. I will have to check that book out.
What does "horn beamie" mean?
OK, you got me on that one, one more comment, then bed. I think often times a heartbreak or something bad happening in one's life makes them angry with God and would be a deep addition to a book. In this book, the hero led a prayer with friends and family after his friend died. It ties you closer to the character.
