Top 7 Least Popular Subjects of Conversation on FR (vanity)

There have been many days where a freeper will eagerly log onto FreeRepublic, scan the news, then the chat, then the blogs, and then even the Smoky Back Room, only to find no subject that catches his interest.

So in the interest of weeding out subject matter that is too boring to deal with, here at the Pissant Reasearch University for Newsworthy Endeavors (PRUNE) we've compiled the list of topics that are sure to induce sleep in even the most caffeinated insomniac!

Top 7 Boring FR Topics

7. Howard Deans Speeches. Granted, during his brief moment in the sun when he was leading the other Dem candidates, his speeches made for entertaining fodder. Unfortuantely now, even the Democrats think he is an unbearable bore, and tune him out.

6. Anna Kournikova Picture Threads. Unfortunately, with the demise of KidGlock (he was banned), the Anna threads have not been the same. The reason was that KidGlock would post 75 pictoral responses to himself. We miss him...

5. Reality TV Threads. The number of freepers who watch reality TV shows peaked the 1st year of Survivor. The numbe of viewers now is down to about 3. And that's only because they want to see Paris Hilton's tush.

4. NASCAR Threads. The all time peak was when Danica Patrick exploded on the scene. Perdogg led the pack, thankfully. But alas, now it's back to cars going around in circles.

3. African Political Threads. It has often been said that the world doesn't pay enough attention to Africa. Very true, and the Freepers are no different.

2. Pissant Vanity Threads. There are two kinds of posters on PVTs. Those who post in sympathy, and those who post urging me to go crawl back under my rock...

1. Serious Analysis of world affairs from Democrat Intellectuals. Don't know if these are actually boring or not, since there hasn't been a intellectual democrat since Scoop Jackson died.

Actually, I get a kick out of most vanity threads.

Most of the "real" threads are crap that I've already read, have an opinion about, and don't care to go any further. Vanities, at least usually, give me a persepective that I haven't thought of or read yet.

I hate threads that develop 500+ posts in one evening. Anything worth saying is already said by post 200.

I love the Microsoft vs Mac vs Linux threads -- they remind me of the "computer wars" era of BBSing that I thrived on in my teens. It's funny to see grown adults actually still measure the length of their penis by their hardware specifications.

Pissant seems pretty cool. There are worse Freepers to stalk.
