We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
CAT IV HURRICANE RITA ADVISORY PACKAGE #23

[NOTE: This information is drawn primarily from the NHC/TPC.]
RITA has completed an eyewall replacement cycle and maximum winds are at 140 MPH and an eye that is 40 miles in diameter. Recon aircraft noted a new wind maxiuma at 65 miles from center, so it is possible that RITA is beginning yet another eyewall replacement cycle.
Course guidance is solid through landfall and up to VT +72 hours. Landfall is predicted near Sabine Pass, TX. As RITA is again over the Loop Current, some strengthening could take place; however, shear is increasing from the south. If strengthening occurs as forecast, landfall should occur with 145 MPH winds.
After landfall, a major flooding event appears to be shaping up for Arkansas and NE Texas as RITA will likely stall near Texarkana at VT +72 hours.
Landfall is forecast for 5 AM CT tomorrow.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Freepmail in a minute.
Rats...Boston ahead by 3 in the top 8th.
I LOVE lying in bed and reading a really good book. I hate it when I am sick or have some sort of physical problem and don't have the choice. But, oh how I love just lying in bed and reading a really good book . . . in my pajamas.
Yep, but even if they do win, we'll still be up by one.
Well, you stated the difference. If I'm sick, I HAVE to get up and put on my baggy tee shirts and some loose pants. BUT, if I don't have to get up, then, yes, lounge around in bed and read a book.
Thanks for directingme there..I love to hear from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
Nght sweetie...love you too.
Good night, y'all. I'm off to bed.
I'm going to go lounge now. Enjoy the evening.
Ditto.
There's an old song in there, somewhere, it's in a guitar songbook somewhere in my dark, distant past...
Well, that was quick. Good night, and see ya tomorrow! Stay safe!
ABG ~~~ I'm quite concerned about you ... looks to me like you're getting a pretty hard hit from Rita. I hope you exchanged contact info with someone so we can get in touch with you ASAP.
Neets ~~~ so sorry you've been laid low by this mess you've had. Hope you shake it completely over the weekend.
Molly ~~~ ***hugasmoocharoonies***
.... have caught up a little on the news since getting home a while ago and saw that the power went out in Galveston earlier this evening. I'm wondering .... I know at Wrightsville Beach, NC, they cut the power and also the gas when a hurricane is approaching to minimize the chances of fires. It is also a "selling point" as they try to persuade people to evacuate ... telling them that the power will definitely be cut even if the storm doesn't knock it out convinces some to leave who would have otherwise stubbornly stayed on the island. Hopefully, that is the sort of thing that has happened in Galveston.
Iowa Granny ~~~ are you able to take something like ibuprofin for the swelling or is that not allowed because of the pain meds you're on? Part of the discomfort from the restraint could be swelling in your arm/hand/wrist and may improve as swelling subsides. Praying that each day finds you greatly improved and one step closer to back-to-normal-only-better.
ALL ~~~ We've had another week from you-know-where but have the weekend off. Hubby and I probably both going to be kinda useless the next two days as we try to just relax and unwind a bit from the chaos of the last few weeks.
Relax away all you want to, Kay. You've more than EARNED some rest....a LOT of rest. (Just reading about your work load and the problems you've had leaves me exhausted.)
Morning all.....rise & shine......
I have an idea....Order out and use this
Reports from Lafayette..Scott Lewis...you have power....Prayers being said.
Good that Rita weakened !!!!
PS - We could use some of that rain here in TN.......but not the wind
