The really sad part of that joke is that I will be telling it to everyone I know. I love the "groaner" jokes. OK, but this one is visual so when you tell it, make sure to make a sign.
Also, I'm going to tell it the way I heard it, which was from an older gentlemen back in 1982. You may want to update some of the names.
Three men are talking about the famous women they would like to date. One man starts going on and on about Raquel Welch and how sexy she is. The other starts talking about Bridget Bardot and how sexy she is. The third is just nodding and perusing his paper. After a bit the two turn to him and say, "So, what about it? Is there any woman you would like to date?"
< when you say this next part, pronounce the last name phoenetically> He answers, "Virginia Pep-pe-LI-ni."
"Who?" they ask.
"Virginia Pep-pe-LI-ni."
"Who in the heck is Virginia Pep-pe-LI-ni?
So he turns the paper around to show them a headline which reads:
14 men killed laying Virginia Pipeline.
