These stunning cities of the past stand as clues to a mystery thousands of years old. While Europe was in the dark ages, it was the Maya who harnessed the knowledge of the stars, and the celestial movements, to create a mystical union of man, nature and the gods. It was a world of great kings, elaborate ceremonies, fierce battles, and even human sacrifice.
18 Survivors will be marooned within this mysterious and rugged terrain.
For the first time, the castaways will actually live within the ruins of a vanished civilization, and they will be forced to embrace the ancient Maya lifestyle.
Join us as the adventure continues with:
Snake is a bit chewy for me.
I hope ta never find that out for myself! LOL
Hey is there an apprentice thread this year? I somehow have missed some episodes.
No, there isn't...Im glad Im not the oly one who watches the Apprentice..
Tell me this isn't real.
Cuz is simply throwing his game in a lame attempt to prove to us that he is not Jeff.
Not only was she dead weight, I just didn't think she was a nice person. She seemed very catty and given to making fun of people. I'm glad she's gone.
I don't understand why they don't ever make a soup out of the little meat that they get. They could make a soup out of that fish.
One year they had a chicken, and I'm like make a soup out of the chicken first. After that eat the meat and drink the broth.
We were in Sacramento this summer, and we went to a candy store that had chocolate covered grasshoppers that they were giving out to people to eat.
My 8 year old daughter ate two of them and laughed.
I told her that I thought she should go on Survivor. She was all ready to go!
I don't know what a pick is, and I still don't know.
Good morning all! Its Monday morning so that means its time for your:
The Yaxha Tribe: (blue buffs)
Amy, Brian, Gary, Jamie, Lydia, Rafe, and Stephenie
The Nakum Tribe: (yellow buffs)
Blake, Brandon, Brooke, Cindy, Danni, Judd, Margaret, and Bobby Jon
The Losers:
Jim, Morgan, Brianna
Its the morning after Yaxha has booted Morgan. Lydia is determined to make herself as indispensable as possible by busting her butt around camp while the rest are still asleep. When Brian finally wakes up, he claims all the credit for engineering the Morgan boot. That was 100% me. He smirks to the camera.
Meanwhile, over at Nakum, a howler monkey is making sleeping in an impossibility. Cindy (the zookeeper) loves the opportunity to interact with the wildlife, but Judd is not so enthusiastic. He comments to the camera that That is the most annoyingest noise Ive ever heard in my entire life.
Tree mail calls the tribes to Reward Challenge. As they meet at the base of a large pyramid, Jeff describes the challenge. Scattered about are components needed to build an archeological tent. One member of the tribe will be a caller, the rest of the tribe will be blindfolded and tied together. Following the voice commands of your caller, you will scout the area for the tent pieces. Once all the pieces are collected and placed on your tribes mat, the blindfolds will be removed and you will start to assemble the tent. The first tribe to properly assemble their tent will win a collection of camp comfort items, including pillows, blankets and a tarp. It is decided that Gary will be the caller for Yaxha and Brooke will be the caller for Nakum.
Jeff says GO and the tribes are off, stumbling around. Danni takes several bonks on the head with tent poles. Yaxha are the first to collect all the items and start to assemble their tent. However, Nakum works better as a team and manages to build their tent faster, winning the challenge and the reward items. Jeff makes a few parting comments to Yaxha as he sends them back to camp, empty-handed again.
Faced with the same bland, flavorless diet of corn mush, day after day, Rafe comments that even throwing dirt into the corn, might change the flavor. Stephenie looks as if she is going to gag while Gary and Rafe chow down on termites in an attempt to spice up their diets.
Meanwhile, over at Nakum, after an afternoon siesta and swim in the croc-infested lake, the tribes take on the task of improving their shelter with the tarp won at the reward challenge. As the men discuss different design ideas, Mother Margaret starts issuing orders and directing the reconstruction. This of course annoys the men prompting Judd to comment to the camera I aint here to take any orders. The only people to tell me what to do are my boss and my wife. Thats it! Smart man Judd! Even in the middle of the game, he knows enough to keep the wife pacified!
Tree mail calls the tribes to Immunity Challenge, after providing them with war paint, feathers and other decorating items to get into the spirit of the battle ahead. Jeff welcomes the tribes and describes the challenge. Based on the ancient Mayan game of court ball, you will battle on an elevated net court, with two vertical hoops on each end. You will face off in randomly selected threesomes, race to the ball thrown in the center, and then pass the ball to each other in an attempt to move within shooting distance of your hoop. The first tribe to throw the ball through a hoop would score for your tribe. The first tribe to score five points would win Immunity.
During the first round, Brian scores for Yaxha. The second, third and forth rounds goes to Nakum. Yaxha takes the fifth and sixth to tie it up at three each. But a determined Nakum takes the seventh and final rounds to win the game 5 to three, sending Yaxha to their second straight Tribal Council.
Yaxha learns that Amy sprained her right foot during the game, but Amy emphatically tells the tribe Its not too serious. The tribe then quickly turns its attention to deciding who to boot at Tribal Council. Jamie, claiming Brianna did next to nothing during the challenge nominated her to be the next boot. A decision eventually shared by the rest of the tribe, as Brianna became the second Yaxha boot with a vote of 7 to 1.
Again, for those who either cannot or will not view the videos at the SeeBS website, here are the transcripts of the comments made during the Tribal Council voting and the Bootees final words.
Lydia (Votes Brianna): This is nothing personal but we need a strong tribe to win these challenges, and well see you back home, home-girl.
Jaime (Votes Brianna): Brianna, you fell off the net in the challenge. You leaned on the pole during the challenge. You were scared to pick up the ball in the challenge. I dont think youve played a contact sport in your entire life. Youre a girly girl and you need to go back to the shopping mall and leave the jungle.
Amy (Votes Brianna): My vote is for Brianna. Its based on a unified vote. But Brianna, you know as well as I know that we came into this right at the beginning with an alliance, and the fact that Im voting out someone in my alliance brings me great concerns that there might be holes in our ship.
Rafe (Votes Brianna): Youre a wonderful person, but I think you and I both know that youre ready to go home.
Stephenie (Votes Brianna): Brianna, you are a sweet, genuine person and Im so sorry that its your time to go. But I have to do whats right for this tribe right now. We need to win immunities. I cant be on a losing streak anymore. I really liked getting to know you and hope we can hang on the outside. See ya.
Gary (Votes Brianna): Brianna, youre a great young girl. I just dont think this was your style of game. Best wishes.
Brianna (Votes Lydia): Lydia, you have not once looked at me in the eye when Ive spoken to you, or even attempted at conversing when I start a conversation with you. Its either you or me tonight. I hope its not me.
Brian (Votes Brianna): Im sure Im going to have a lot of sarcastic things to say about people throughout this game when I vote them out but youre a sweet heart. You really are, through and through. Im only voting for you because you are the weakest link on the tribe: you dont give it your all. Lydia does.
Briannas Final Words:
Yaxha, I had a great time you have the strongest bunch of people Ive ever met in my life and I know youre going to kick some Nakum ass. I had a great time - theres nothing more I can say than I gave it my all, I tried my hardest, I obviously wasnt strong enough. May the strongest win - you guys are.. you guys rock good luck.
It makes me very sad to know that I was voted off. But it is survival of the fittest out there and I was the weakest link. It makes me very sad Im sad to go home tonight. Yes.
I have learned that I am an incredibly strong person stronger than I thought I was. And, Ive learned not to be so trusting, actually. Ive grown up to be a very trusting person and I think that was one of my downfalls in this game I trusted way too early. I dont feel betrayed at all. No, I know that theyre in this game to win it. Every single one of those players is in this game to win it. And good luck to em.
I will take away an incredible amount of strength, wisdom - about people, about culture and about survival. I think Ill take away the experience, the experience was amazing - I couldnt have asked for a better time. I was only here for 8 days, but it was the best 8 days of my life. Hands down the toughest, but the best.
I wouldnt have made any promises to anybody if I were to start over again. I would have worked harder and I would have trained harder before I even came, if I were to play the game again. Youve got to be athletic to be out here. I am an athletic person, just not as athletic as these people.
Well there you have it, 3 down, and 13 more to go before we get to our final two.
Have a great day, & Ill be back Thursday with my Weekly Picks.
Take care,
FReepmail me if you want added to, or removed from the one, the only, Official Survivor Ping List.
When you have two players trying to get open for a pass (each having a man defending), and you basically run toward each other with the intention of getting the defenders entangled so one of the players can get free.
SD
good episode, Brianna was dead weight. Looks to me like Stephanie is on another loser tribe. Starting to like Brandon, and they are not giving him much screen time, he could be the winner. I would still favor Bobby John to win it all. This Survivor thread is sure getting more traffic than Palau!
"I would still favor Bobby John to win it all."
Why? The poor boy is as dumb as a box of rocks.
He may not be bright but he's got heart and after what he went through on Palau and he was willing 6 months later to do it all again, that takes a strong person. He and Steph are good examples. Bobby John tries to win through mostly strength and winning challenges and immunities and while Steph is strong, she is more of a manipulator and maneuverer.
Nice summation, cuz.
I had a bit of a moment when Brianna was voted off, as I'm a girly girl too....She'll be much happier on the cruise ship until the show ends and so would I.
"...Gary and Rafe chow down on termites in an attempt to spice up their diets."
I know some adventure-seeker types who enjoy eating termites, but they said you should cook them in a dry pan or with a little oil to get the flavor out of them, like eating cooked chicken compared to raw chicken.
Here is a very interesting site on eating insects and how to prepare them, including removing the guts:

Good question. How WERE the teams selected? I recall nothing that explains how they came to be together.
